Hey folks!

Today's map is a case study of a bigger project we want to do; a world map with the same theme of connecting real world sites and bringing in names from mythology and folklore to create a new setting to explore.

This map is based around the idea of the world being destroyed by cataclysms several times throughout history.
Every time these cataclysms happen, civilisations rise and fall.
Humanity forgets its history but it lingers on in the names of places, architecture of the stones and the hidden meanings left behind.

Karl Benrenold is a cartographer of his time. This map is one of his early attempts to encapsulate the key sites and powers of his time and his world; Europa.
The markings in the margin and the icons are the discoveries he has made within his world and the connections he has managed to make to literal history in his time.
