My old neighbor was a grandson of Rocket Richard lol he loved hockey and also getting drunk

Eric is funny af. Here’s the thing: it’s like every episode you talk about Saudi butchery without an obvious counterpoint, the US treatment of Assange. I feel like a Russian bot. I feel like retweeting Aimee Therese. This is some subliminal dnc hackery on the level of Pod Save America.

They spent a good chunk of the conversation talking about how the morally corrupt DC establishment no longer gives a shit that about Khasshogi now that they’re in a bind and need some oil. Why bring up Assange? KSA and USA same team. The Chapo guys aren’t trying to assert some moral high ground for the US.

Anonymous

I get that they don’t personally think the US is a higher moral ground. The most lucid critique of chapo comes from Therese who accuses them of being dnc buttboys. Moments like these, where they hang Charles Barkley out for potentially doing business with the ksa, and repeatedly, emphatically hammer the point about chopping up body parts is precisely this critique. Should Charles Barkley refuse to participate in American sports because of their treatment of assange? Maybe, that’s a more interesting point of view honestly.

step away from the smartphone and get some fresh air my dude

PFT seems v chill

I also wish that all media I consumed treated me like a stupid baby and had disclaimers and whatabouts on every statement, so to avoid accidentally being seen as to unduly taking a side

Anonymous

Nah, this isn't that. They talked about how the golf tournament was openly and clearly part of a propaganda effort, while literally parroting state department propaganda. Every time someone talks about KSA violence they get +5 America points. Chapo bits are often critically thorough, this one was weirdly liberal in a way that made me feel like Glenn

etienne

you have a very strong force of character and baloney detector for you to expose yourself to such strong and insidious propaganda and see right through it. we're really lucky to have you

Anonymous

You're an excellent white knight and I don't know if they could have adequately defended themselves without you. My feedback is in tatters and it's all thanks to comment repliers.

etienne

thats awesome man. thanks to you im gonna be ready to drop some raw fucking knowledge on my high school philosophy classes

Yeah, or for your tight five, you know, anything can be an open mic, when you have the right stuff.

Ghordo

Somebody needs to make a movie about Clay Higgins played by Nicholas Cage

Duane Bailey

Well, it's sports i guess. Not clear why this matters.

Duane Bailey

Perhaps future episodes could show why people caring about this is indicative of anything meaningful.

the "what happens when the second check doesn't come" thing already happened, reportedly; vince mcmahon/WWE accepted a giant bundle of money to put on free shows in saudi arabia and apparently during the second big show somebody on the WWE end got into a shouting match with somebody on the saudi end over not receiving the money and the saudis responded by putting a hold on the WWE planes and apparently just imprisoning them for a few days. several performers said they'd never go back and were terrified for their lives. so yeah. not good!

will michel

can you drop tonight’s episode already? i’m stuck in the atlanta airport and all the bars are closed

Corkus

Hey it’s been 6 years just wanted to say thank you for mentioning the poverty franchise of a team I root for, the Islanders. Love the pre game shows

Whitey

ah so you're the reason it hasn't dropped yet, bravo bruh

Duane Bailey

Sure, but I would presume the hosts would articulate why/how sports offer valuable insight into the state of our society. It's clear they do. What's less clear is why sports matters and what impact they have on our society. This is no more clear on a second listen.

Duane Bailey

For anyone who's not into sports already, the entire enterprise seems a lot more like a gladiatorial match soothing the masses of unclear political stresses than anything inherently material.

Jeff Klein

Will, you’re a really good show runner. You transition really well to planned topics while keeping the flow of conversation going
