I admit I am weary of ‘teen Seven’. On the one hand, I had zero problem with her irrational desire to stay in the Delta quadrant. But her opening crankiness was just … I’m over it. However, her fears and the way it was handled in the brig scene was perfect for ‘mother/daughter.’ I liked the optic of Janeway working her Borg implant (sort of like the parental intimacy of combing your teen’s hair). And Janeway’s speech was PERFECT. As was Seven’s humor. So that was worthwhile. Other notes: ‘Neelix and Tom go on a supply run …’ seems like the start of fun bit of mischief. I like those two as a team. Neelix negotiating, Paris watching his back and keeping the ball rolling. And I also liked Harry & Tom laughing on the bridge. So relaxed and ‘right.’ Tuvok’s wit was on point as always and apparently Tom & B’Elanna made a new slipstream drive on the graveyard shift. Most impressive. We could have used a little more Chakotay and Harry but what we got was good. So I’m with RDM. This was an 8. I take points off for the initial conflict during Velocity and the ‘overnight slipstream capability’. But it was a good finale.

2nd limerick is more betterest. I wonder if the writers crafted the Seven and Janeway conflict into the scripts because the real life conflict between the two actors. By all reports throughout the years and by Kate's own admission, she was a complete bitch to Jeri Ryan and made life on the set very rough so much that it affected the other actors in some reports. Additionally, they probably gave Jeri (Seven) "the wins" because Kate (Janeway) always had the upper hand in real life. RDM is wrong and Garrett is correct (as mostly usual). It is Voyager that turns off to the right or Starboard as Cdr Chakotay orders. Why do we have to keep revisiting the issue of whether or not Voyager should have helped the Borg in their fight against 8472? It has already been established many times that 8472's goal was to wipe out ALL life in the galaxy and would have, had the Borg with Voyagers assistance not stopped them. So choice would have been to have NO chance against 8372 or SOME chance against the Borg.
