This is an epic episode. Movie worthy. The SFx was amazing. And the conflicts between senior staff were compelling to watch. I found a parallel between Janeway asking how the Doctor was going to enforce his will and Paris asking Chakotay if he was going to take away his replicator rations. So… is Janeway a bad influence on Paris or is Paris a bad influence on Janeway? Or are they just two peas in a pod when it comes to certain topics? Poor Robbie being frustrated over the J/C tease. Yes, they did that for years. Kind of the same as many TV series of that era. And all were afraid of the ‘Moonlighting’ curse.* I think that’s may be one of the reasons they let Tom/B’Elana hook up - to give SOME payoff. - Oberist was a great character - Annorax was an excellent villain One of my favorite moments was the indoor nebula. In sum, a fabulous hour of TV. *Moonlighting, IMO was doomed for other reasons. Janeway staying separate made sense. It was the Seven/Chakotay thing that was out of left field.

I'm just gonna chime in here on behalf of all the fans of Star Trek who are also sports fans - we love the little football, hockey, baseball, and basketball bits and pieces here and there ;) And this one was great (although your defense is a little weak with just 2 guys xD) ... here's my take on this: our offense: Janeway (the team leader) is clearly at QB, Chakotay gets the ball handed by Janeway the same way as he gets temporary command/the bridge is the RB, Tuvok as tactical officer is your most dangerous weapon so is WR... our defense: Harry at LB and B'elana at CB, the doc being the medic and (spoiler alert: also being the ECH) is your last line of defense, so he is our Safety, 7of9 is your all-around weapon who can play offense, defense and special teams, Tom steering the ship is our coach, and Neelix serving food and drinks for everyone is the waterboy xD
