The Delta Flyers is a weekly Star Trek: Voyager rewatch and recap podcast hosted by Garrett Wang and Robert Duncan McNeill. I agree with the chap above, Star Trek really struggles generally with its attitude towards women. This episode is uncomfortable to watch the fawning and the execution is more 60s than 90s. To use misogyny to achieve parity is not a "win" . A similar story could have been told so easily without resort to cliche.

There are obviously lots of problematic elements to this episode and many of them were mentioned on this podcast, but I don't think anybody mentioned this; by making the aliens-of-the-week villainous this episode reinforced the old fashioned idea that women who embrace sexuality, enjoy sex, and are very sex-positive are actually evil and looking to corrupt poor innocent men. So we end up with an episode that simultaneously feels exploitative towards women while also feeling very misogynistic and sex-shamey. The basic premise of the episode is fairly solid, but the implementation wasn't great.
