Very interesting to hear them talk about those Season 1 episodes they shoot but never released. Wished we could know what those "missing" episodes what about.

Definitely agree with Robbie that this one was lackluster as well, especially the Afterschool Special line from Dalby at the end: "If you can learn to bend the rules, I guess we can learn to follow them". However I'm absolutely with Garrett that Janeway's character is allowed to have fun in her own way on the Holodeck and this kind of structured escapism makes sense to me, so I disagree with Robbie there even if the concept wasn't fleshed out enough in future episodes. They gave up on the holonanny angle and went to the DaVinci one which was definitely more engaging. This episode definitely tried to do the Lower Decks TNG thing but without the gravitas and stakes that episode had. The "Get that cheese to sickbay" plot was way more engaging. Almost everything about the conflict between Tuvok and the 4 Maquis felt really contrived. Sad story about that extra getting fired. Ironic that she bent the rules and lost her job considering the message of this episode. For the fan reviews, you say the first one is from "John" but it's actually another one from Jamahl Epsicokhan from Jammer's Reviews who you've referenced in previous episodes. For the record I love both the cheese and the dog! Jamahl hated the dog with a passion for some reason...lol. The second review is from Remco (not Rina as you said) and was a reply comment to Jamahl's review. I'm glad Voyager wasn't slipping into interstellar war like DS9, but it was a very lackluster finale, mostly because it wasn't meant to be the finale. Poor choice by the network to schedule it that way. Good points by Mel in the last review. Even though I didn't care much for the episode, Chakotay's allegiance and Tuvok's character development were memorable parts, even if I thought the latter was a bit hokey. Nice recap and analysis as always, guys! I really enjoyed your takes throughout this season and how much you improved as time went on with the structure of the show. As for the 1st season of Voyager itself, I think it does a lot of things right and was the best ST season 1 since TOS.
