I did this special mashup of my "I'll Be Good" & "My Forbidden Lover" by Chic on 2017 for the presentation showcase of my first album "Songs For A Better Future". Jose Spinnin did the scratching on it (he won turntableism awards when he was younger), and I had fun making the two songs work together. We were planning the release of a special vinyl version of the album and this was one of the special mixes to be included in it.

Only I wasn't able to clear the sample on it, a little bit of "My Forbidden Lover" by Chic (there's more that I actually had to redo from the original, although it seems to be the real thing. Studio trickery hehe). Turns out being an independent artist makes it very difficult to clear this things, even having had a huge career on the mainstream. But not to worry, there's a new tool out this days for indie artists and I'm trying again to get the proper rights to use it.

Until then I decided to do a music video you can see here and to use this version only on live performances. This is the first time I release an mp3 of it, hope you enjoy it :)

I had no idea this is a mashup. I've always loved this song and sexy video. Thanks for posting it!

Hello dear Edward! Well, technically it's close to be a mashup, although I only used a few words from the other song. You can check the Chic song here and decide for yourself: https://youtu.be/-7VnkxYbcb0 Have a great day! :)
