At GenCon online I was pretty deeply impressed by someone at a seminar who said they were done with character death. She had too much loss in her life including the loss of a decades long game master and she said she was done with characters dying - those types of games. And thus when Jared kept up player agency as a response to Paula getting to say what happened with a natural 1 , a safer and dynamic way of playing happened. On the front end side, the Gauntlet’s C.A.T.S. system and those lines and veils polls are great, too.
