So I’ve been practing my digital art again and I’ve been working on just flowing better with it meaning not overthinking the details and just practicing bringing out the main details that stand out in the reference.

Also I’m learning to embrace the messy parts in my painting it really adds more character and life to it! 🥰 

I’ve also been learning about my complimentary colors and analogous colors and lighting techniques from some tutorials from samdoesart! I think one of the most important things I’m learning is how to implement new techniques from other artists without changing my art style…because I have noticed I have been tempted to try and fully implement the exact style of samdoesart but then I realized no one’s art style will be exactly the same and we must embrace the way we draw and learn how to implement new techniques without changing our own unique way we draw 💞

What helped me do that was to draw the way I normally draw(the way I’m comfortable with) and color the way I normally color and to slowly include any new techinue I’ve learned from other artists. It never works for me when I try to draw exactly the way another artists does so when I just go with what I know and take what I learn and figure out how to comfortably add it in I see that it is working well!

For me what I learned was how to make colors look more alive and realistic by using complimentary and analogous colors and new lighting techniques.
