I didn't get to say it during the stream, but the anime you were thinking of (with the futuristic gun) was actually Psycho Pass. Mob Psycho 100 is a different anime entirely, it's actually what my profile avatar (the boy with lightning in his eyes) is from. Sort of.

Not much to say about this episode, aside from how you can tell how unfinished it is from the lack of continuity between certain animation cuts/portions of the fight (among OTHER things I forgot to mention). Blah blah something something fuck MAPPA.

Fun Fact: A famous animator named Vincent Chansard (who worked on one of the craziest bits of animation from this episode) said that he was never working for MAPPA again and only Hakuyu Go, another famous animator (who worked on a big Mob Psycho 100 episode) was able to talk him into it this time, and that after this he was done. This, along with the complaints of other animators who were apparently willing to break their NDAs to talk about how psychotic the production planning was, just goes to show how many bridges were burnt with this one. It’s almost hilarious just what a monumental fuck up this production schedule was. 😂
