Update Post! Apr. 7th, 2023 (May Madness voting, Discord Request Battle winner!) (Patreon)

Hey Patrons, I have another update post for you!

We just ended our Mario themed GaMetal Discord Request Battle, and have a victor:

Buoy Base Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy won the battle and will be going on the to-do list! It'll be the next song up after High Above the Land.

With that, and the recent PRL songs that were added to the list a couple of days ago, the to-do list is now looking like:

• Next: High Above the Land / A Cargo of Fineries (Shovel Knight)
• 2nd: Buoy Base Galaxy (Super Mario Galaxy)
• April: Boomer Kuwanger (Mega Man X)
• April: Tubelectric (Jazz Jackrabbit 2) 
• TBA (May?): His World (Sonic '06)
• TBA: Project Peppermint

My goal is to once again have the to-do list cleared out by the time we get to May, so I can focus on the upcoming May Madness event. On that note: May Madness voting begins today! 

(Repost from last update post): For those unfamiliar with the annual GaMetal May Madness event: every year, I go back and remake some old GaMetal songs for the sake of either doing them better, or giving them full arrangements (as in, songs that appeared in a medley but don't have full remixes). I give out two voting forms each year: a Patron-only form, and a public form (ie. Youtube). You can fill out both forms if you'd like.

As Patrons, you can suggest up to 3 songs for remake contention. Only 1 is required if you can't decide on another 2.

Also, as Patrons, you can edit your submissions later (as long as the form is open).

Friendly reminder: I won't only be going with the songs with the most votes, so songs that don't place in the top aren't necessarily counted out and vice versa, but the results of this ballot and the public ballot will have a very strong influence on my choices.

My goal each May is to do around 5 remakes, and 2 new songs. Sometimes I end up with more... sometimes with less and a song or two leaks into early June. But 7 total (5 remakes) is the goal. 😅

The new songs this year will likely be His World and the winner of another GaMetal Discord Request battle that I already have planned (dependant on what the winning song ends up being, of course). If time permits and depending on what is chosen, one of the Patreon Request List songs from May could happen that same month as well, but I'd say to count on June just to be safe.

On a final note: I'm hard at work on High Above the Land, and should be able to have a preview to you sometime tomorrow.
