Update Post! April 4th, 2023 (Lots of things afoot!) (Patreon)

Hey Patrons, here's your first update post for April 2023!

First off, a very quick look at the current to-do list:

• April: High Above the Land / A Cargo of Fineries (Shovel Knight)
• TBA: His World (Sonic '06)
• TBA: Project Peppermint

Excellent! I managed to get the list back down to only a couple of songs as I had hoped for. High Above the Land / A Cargo of Fineries will be up next, which I'm hoping to have finished by this weekend. I'll be working on His World this month, and think I'll be holding on to it till sometime in May (more on May in a second).

With the to-do list finally back down to a manageable size, I can get back to work on the long awaited Project Peppermint, along with some other things.

Thing one: a new GaMetal Discord Request Battle has been initiated! To celebrate the upcoming release of the Mario movie, this one is based on the mainline Mario games, and after a quick qualifying round of voting, two songs emerged at the top of the Mario song pile (both tying for the top spot) and are now facing off against each other to decide which one will go on the almighty to-do list this month. Those two songs being Buoy Base Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy, and Break Free (Lead the Way) from Super Mario Odyssey.

Thing two: May Madness is approaching! For those unfamiliar with the annual GaMetal May Madness event: every year, I go back and remake some old GaMetal songs for the sake of either doing them better, or giving them full arrangements (as in, songs that appeared in a medley but don't have full remixes). I give out two voting forms each year: a Patron-only form, and a public form (ie. Youtube). May Madness voting will begin in a few days, so keep your eye out for the post for more info.

Thing three: We have a large Patreon stream coming tomorrow... as always, we'll be throwing a song from the Patreon Request List on to the to-do list. On top of that is the 2023 GaMetal Song Ballot results! We'll be going over and listening to the most requested songs and games/series, so this'll be an extra long stream (they usually take a couple of hours or so). We'll be starting at our usual time of 4:00 PM US Eastern. A recap of the stream, including the stream PRL song, my monthly handpick, and the ballot results (along with COMPLETE ballot results sheet), will be posted in a recap post shortly after the stream ends, but again, this could take a few hours. 

Thing four: sort of mentioned this earlier, but with the to-do list cut back down, I'm going to be working on Project Peppermint once again and going to try my absolute best to have this thing just about wrapped up by the time April is over. As always, I'll keep you updated.
