Update post! February 3rd (Album progress, Discord, Collab coming?) (Patreon)

Hey all you glorious Patrons! I have quite a few things to talk about. :)

I've continued to make great progress on the Patreon Album. I'm almost done with the rhythm section for all songs, which is one of the more time-consuming parts of the process. After that it's onto leads and synths, finishing with the usual clean-up stuff. So far we're looking on course to have the album complete and available here on Patreon for all Patrons sometime around the last week of this month!

The song preview(s) for the album will be a compilation of short bits from several of the album songs. That should be coming around a week before official full (Patreon) release.

Next up, in case you missed the last post, the GaMetal Discord is up and running and I highly recommend you come and join us! It's been great interacting with so many of you and I'm glad to see we can all manage to get along  well. If you don't have Discord I'd highly recommend checking it out. I'm still a newbie to it myself, so you won't be alone. xD

One major part of the Discord I want to mention is the request_battles channel. About every 6 weeks, there will be a different poll where people on Discord can vote on which highly requested song (or song from a certain franchise) should come next in the GaMetal line-up. The current Request Battle is Metroid themed: Kraid's Lair vs Ridley Battle. Ridley is currently ahead 21 to Kraid's 11, so if you'd rather have Kraid's Lair, I suggest you get in there and help get Kraid back in the game! More info on Request Battles can be found on the pin in it's Discord channel.

As of right now, all Patrons and some of my Twitch followers/viewers have been invitied to the Discord. If you have any friends that would like to join, feel free to share the link with them (  https://discord.gg/6Qk8HyK  ). Full on public invite (meaning, Youtube, haha) will be during the next Youtube live-stream, which I'm still anticipating will be sometime towards the end of this month, when the Patreon album is finished.

So remember a while ago when I mentioned briefly that I had a collaboration in the works? Well that collaboration is nearing completion! Currently all that's left is adding synths and cleaning up the song, and getting the video footage recorded and edited together. Since it's a bit more difficult for me to give a time frame for a collaboration song, I won't be revealing too much yet, but the way things are looking it's possible it will be ready to go sometime late this month.

The person I'm collabing with is very underrated (much like myself, right? xD), and was actually suggested to me by one of you here on Patreon. I'll reveal more once I get his video footage, because then it's basically up to me to get everything else complete. :)

The next song, Crocodile Cacophany, is about 70% complete. I'm expecting to have the song and video ready to go sometime in the middle of next week, around Wednesday the 8th.

The upcoming acoustic short/loop channel now has an official name: Atmacoustics. According to Mats T here on Patreon, this was initially suggested here by Ben Salvidrim. I think it rolls off the tongue pretty nicely, so we're rolling with it. Thanks for the suggestion Ben! I'm hoping to get this channel up and running after I get more acoustic shorts done and have most of the difficult things for the Patreon Album out of the way. I'd like to announce it during the next YT live stream as well, so that's the goal currently.

Lastly, the next Patreon Request List Drawing will take place here on Sunday night (the 5th). I believe I have the list up to date, but you still have time to make changes to the list if you'd like. I recommend posting changes you'd like to make as comments on the request list post, as that's the easiest way for me to see them currently.

I'll also have the official entry list up sometime either tomorrow or Sunday morning at the latest.
