An insider look at the next GaMetal Discord Request Battle + a bonus! (Patreon)

Hey Patrons! Today I'm bringing you a sneak-peek into the next GaMetal Discord Request Battle.

For those unfamiliar with GaMetal Discord Request Battles: in the early days of the GaMetal Discord, I started a channel called '#request_battles' where people vote between two highly requested songs that usually (but not always) follow a similar theme (i.e. same series), and the winner gets made soon after.  The most recent winners were The End of Raging Waves (Etrian Odyssey battle) and Heart of Fire (Castlevania battle) a few months ago.

The last request battle was Castlevania themed to celebrate Halloween month. For this battle, I first took requests for only Castlevania songs from the GaMetal Discorders (up to two per person), then took the top 2 songs (which ended up being Divine Bloodlines and Heart of Fire) and had the server vote between the two.

Despite having a few less votes in the initial request form, Heart of Fire ended up taking the victory by the narrowest margin in request battle history, winning 125-122.

That request battle format worked out so well, that I've decided to do something similar again:

Mega Man Robot Master Request Battle Tournament!

The first request battle of the year will be a tournament between the most requested Robot Master themes from the classic/original Mega Man series. This includes Mega Man 1-11 and a few others (such as Mega Man & Bass, I've also decided to include the Stardroids from Mega Man V, I've compiled a full list of eligible songs here).

The first round will be an initial voting round, similar to the Castlevania request battle, where people can vote for up to three robot master themes from any of the songs on the eligible song list.

We'll then take the top 8 most requested songs and face them off against each other, tournament style (initial matchups will be randomized), until we end up with our winning robot master theme, which will then be remixed sometime in March. 

I anticipate this tournament will take about 1-2 weeks to complete.

...I'm sure you've already seen the preview attached to this post: Wood Man is coming to kick off the Robot Master Tournament festivities! I've been working on this song in the background for a bit, and it's already about 95% finished. The tournament will start the same day the Wood Man video drops, which I'm expecting to have completed and up by this Wednesday.
