Ninja Gaiden continues this year's May Madness with the return of Basilisk Mine Field, which I'm now reverting to it's alternate (and arguably more popular) name: Unbreakable Determination.

Like I mentioned in a previous post, out of all the remake songs coming this month, I changed this one around the least. In fact it's the only one where I've kept the guitar solo (to quote Axe Knight from the RoMK remix: isn't the whole thing sort of a solo?) almost entirely the same. It's always been one of my favorite solos I've written for a GaMetal song.

I also threw the counter-melody line that's in the original subtly in the background of the verse via synth. I didn't have that in my first 2011 remix. I made a really slight additional change by throwing in an odd-ball 1 note change on the second playthrough of the verse line (about 1:30 in the video), just to change things up a bit.

Aside from that and some slightly altered drum/rhythm guitar fills, and some occasional slap bass fills, nothing much has changed.

But it sure does sound a hell of a lot better! To me anyways. Hopefully to you too. xD

The next song will be up on Saturday! Then we'll be taking a break for a few days and resuming next week, either on Tuesday or Wednesday. I've still got some work to do on the next songs, but not too much. The outlook is still good that we'll get all 7 planned songs in this month!

Till next time, thanks for your continued support Patrons! :)

Unbreakable Determination (Ninja Gaiden) - GaMetal

Unbreakable Determination (aka Basilisk Minefield) from Ninja Gaiden returns to GaMetal! The NES Ninja Gaiden games have a lot of good music, but I think it's fair to say that the Stage 4-2 music, known as either Unbreakable Determination or Basilisk Minefield (should totally be Mine Shaft...), is the most popular.
