Hey again! For those that couldn't make it to the reveal stream, here's the line-up for this year's May Madness remake event.

(Note: the song order presented here and in the preview medley aren't indicative of the actual release order)

First up, La Mulana is returning for at least one more time this year with the return of this 2014 GaMetal remix: Interstice of the Dimension

While La Mulana might not be the most well known series around, this particular song showed up quite a few times on the 2020 GaMetal Song Ballot, the public 2020 May Madness ballot, and had a really great showing on this year's public 2020 May Madness ballot, where it was the #3 most requested public ballot song of all the songs that were chosen for this year. I've been considering remaking this song for the past few years but there have just been so many strong candidates that won out instead. Now that I'm still coming off a La Mulana high from In Yggdrasil, I think it's time to get this remake done.

This one was already revealed to you all a few days ago: Stage 9-8 from Donkey Kong '94! This was one of the first songs I did by request, in fact it may be the first remix I did where I was completely unfamiliar with the original until that request. I immediately fell in love with it because it has a really cool solo (which sounds like it was meant for Guitar), which isn't something you typically hear in Game Boy music.

I remade it for fun in 2014 (before May Madness was a thing), but now it's time to give it some A+ treatment.

This one was tied for the #1 spot with a few other songs from the Patreon vote, and fared decently on the public ballot (where it placed in the top 10).

Oh heck yeah, Decisive Battle from Final Fantasy VI! You all know by now that FF6's soundtrack is my personal favorite, and this was probably the first song that got me really interested in game music, period (after all, we hear it well before Fierce Battle and Dancing Mad).

Interestingly, this song wasn't high up on my priority list before the voting process, but I was really surprised to see how well this song fared in the public ballot: it was the #2 most requested song from the public and was only 1 vote away from tying with the #1 song. That's more than enough for me!

We're setting sail once more for Dragon Roost Island from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker! This 2012 GaMetal song wasn't around publicly for long, as it was the last song that came out before my channel got shut down back then.

This was another one of the songs that was tied for the #1 most requested from you all on the Patreon vote. It faired decently on the public vote (it was tied with Stage 9-8, both of which were behind a few others including Interstice).

You may have been able to tell from the preview, but this time around I'm adding a new spin to this remix: I'm converting it into a Pirate Metal arrangement! This should be a fun one.

There were a lot of good medley-featured requests this year, and this year I've decided to go with Armored Armadillo from Mega Man X! This one was a part of the 2014 Mega Man X Maverick Medley. I've always really liked this song, doing a full version should be a lot of fun.

Yet again, this was another one tied for the #1 spot from the Patreon vote!

The public vote has been fighting for me to remake this one for a while, and since it's now the #1 most requested from the public ballot, I have no choice: Stickerbush Symphony is returning!

I first did this song back in 2010 and it was one of my more popular songs from that era (thanks to Newgrounds). A few years later, in 2014, I did an all-acoustic arrangement just to pay homage to one of my first popular songs.

I'll probably be arranging this one a bit differently this time around (as some mention the middle section came in a bit of a jarring manner), but I'm still keeping the trance-y (is that it?) feel that we had before for most of the song.

Also worth mentioning is this song was behind the songs that tied for #1 in the Patreon vote, so it was a wanted remake on you all's end as well!

I said I might do more than one medley-featured remix this year, and I'm keeping my word on that and giving you all a full version of one of game music's classic gems: The Moon from Ducktales! This was the last of the 4 songs that tied for the #1 spot in the Patreon vote

This song has been on a lot of my May Madness shortlists for the past few years, but it always fell to the wayside in favor of other medley choices. Since I wanted to do more than one medley song this year, I couldn't put off the opportunity to finally give The Moon a shot.

That's seven remakes that I have coming for you all this month! If time permits, I might try to squeeze in a new song from the to-do list as well, but most of my attention will be focused on the getting these remakes done.

I'll have an update post for you all in a couple of days, stay awesome and I'll see you then! :)

I an thrilled to pieces with all of these! ESPECIALLY IotD, which is my absolute favorite song (your 2014 version is the reason I found you at all in the first place, Jonny!), but honestly there’s not a single miss on the list here. TDB is another extreme favorite of mine, so this is just great!

Woohoo! Lots of exciting pieces to look forward to!!

This is a pretty hype list, glad to see Armored Armadillo make it. Also thanks for not using the MHX art for him in the thumbnail lol.

Nice! Really looking forward to all of these, but mostly Stickerbush Symphony
