Preview of the New Background! (Patreon)

I'm pleased to announce the new background will be going live with the next video!

Above is a beta shot of it will look like. To the left is a bookshelf that will have the gaming memorabilia from games/franchises we've covered before + some other stuff, and to the other side will be the long awaited gameplay footage! It's actually crooked up there in the shot above, and it also needs to be resized to the 16:9 aspect ratio.  I had to widen my shot some which captured a part of my drums which bothered me at first but I guess looking at it now it helps fill the background out some and doesn't look completely stupid like I thought it would. xD

Here's a look at whats on my shelf right now:

On the top shelf, I have  bunch of my old NES games, all of these have been featured as a GaMetal song or a part of a medley. Batman, Bubble Bobble, Bionic Commando, all 3 original Castlevanias, Darkwing Duck, Excitebike, Final Fantasy, Journey to Silius, Kirby's Adventure, Punchout!, StarTropics, all 3 SMBs, TMNT II, Tetris, and both Zelda's. Also I have some of my 3DS games that also have songs I've covered: OoT, Link Between Worlds, SSB, MK7, and KI:U. I'll have to do some hunting to see if I can find other NES cartridges from games we've touched on like Ghosts n' Goblins, Mega Man (I couldn't find any of my Mega Mans :/! ), etc.

I still have my old Genesis, but unfortunately I lost most of my games, especially those with boxes. I was able to find my Sonic & Knuckles box, and while I was rummaging through my old games, I found Shaq-Fu, which is hilarious because I seriously didn't think I would still have this game or the box to go with it. The rule of my displayed games will be that they must have had a song from them covered, but we'll make an exception for Shaq-Fu because Shaq-Fu breaks all the rules.

On the second shelf I'll have figures and stuff. Right now it's pretty barren, with only Mewtwo, the boy Squid amiibo, 8 bit Mario, 8 bit Link, and a Bootar I made and painted out of clay a few years ago. I'm waiting on a Tetrimino, Ocarina of Time (the Ocarina), and Ninja Kirby that I ordered a few days ago. Every month I'm going to take a small portion of the Patreon money and use it to add more things. My goal is to have every franchise covered that's been featured in GaMetal. Some of these will be a lot harder than others, like Bravely Defualt, Phoenix Wright (the Phoenix Wright figures are like $150, wtf?), etc, so they'll take some searching or possibly crafting to get some representation.

Super Sonic, or as you may know him, Keyboard Sonic, haha. Ever wonder what happened to my Shadow or original blue Sonic? My dogs ate them when I was gone one day. Only Super Sonic survived the attack, because that chaos emerald power. He might need to go on a different shelf, he's really big.

On the 3rd shelf: The first 3 Nintendo consoles! That's actually an NES 2 on the end there, my classic NES broke back around the time those were released so we replaced it with that. I gave my GameCube away a long time ago to a close friend that wanted it, and I'd have my Wii U up here but it's, you know, hooked up to my TV cause I still play it, haha. All 3 of these still work, but I had to go through 3 original Xbox's and am on my 2nd Xbox 360. Go figure.

As for the other angles, the keyboard shot will remain the same till I figure out if that Korg Triton LE is truly dead or not (need to order a new adapter to try it out), the blue curtain now extends behind the drumset so if I can get a solid angle on it, there won't the stupid white wall behind it anymore. The other guitar angle I shoot (the 'close up' one) I still have to mess with, but I'll be trying to get the shelves mostly in the shot. The main shot (the one you see above) is the most important because it's the angle we see the most in the videos.

Hopefully everyone finds this a bit less boring than the old background! It was actually the number one complaint I've heard the most about my videos, so this should help us out a lot. Also, if any of you have a lets play channel and would like to have your gameplay footage featured, let me know! I'll of course be linking to and crediting the channels where I get the gameplay footage from, so do let me know if you're interested.
