Hello, everyone. Today, I received about if I plan on using Brandon and Cissy for the next game (as Episode 16 is actually coming along quite nicely). And I thought I should share my response to him with you guys to see how you feel about the future game direction:

---

Well, I received some feedback about people not really liking them very much, and so I did a poll to see how my patrons felt as well, and the data seemed to suggest that they were a little ambivalent towards them. Only 11% of voters wanted them in the next game, though to be fair, 65% of them had no particularly feeling (but the remaining 23% wanted a game without them).

To be fair, after 16 games with them, I can understand that they might want something different. It also limits me creativity-wise, since I realise having Brandon and Cissy in the game makes it automatically a not very serious, tongue-in-cheek kind of game. Like the stakes are not real, because they are not ever really going to panic (since they're just playing a video game and they are tickle fetishists). It also I can't do things like my a true RPG where the player can choose exactly what kind of character to make, down to the name, gender, etc.

For example, I'm thinking of doing a game based on the Darkest Dungeon, as you know, I'm planning on having it be quite serious on the tickle horror elements, like much more than I did for Episode 12, which I think didn't really capture it that well, probably because of Brandon and Cissy being the protagonists and generally not being that concerned with their predicament.

Also, from a marketing perspective, I think a game like 'To-Tickle List Episode 16' can be a little off-putting for people. Like, if they haven't played the previous episodes, they may already feel a bit confused, and the title of the game doesn't actually give them any information about the game, really. That's partially why I want to call the upcoming game 'Dungeon Tickler', instead.

I'm not exactly thinking of never using them again, but I think it would be a good idea to not use them for every game.

So, there's some new information for you guys here! Do you agree with this new direction? Does a Darkest Dungeon tickle game appeal to you? And, as my beloved Patrons, I do want to keep you guys in the loop and tell you what I'm planning, so I'd really appreciate hearing feedback on this and how you feel about it :)

Much thanks for thinking about us and keeping us in the creative process! I've played a bit of Darkest Dungeon and wondered if you'll be including magic and other fantastical elements in Dungeon Tickler? Oh, and I think some level of character creation would be really fun!

Hey, Ade! For the Darkest Dungeon game, I'm thinking of Lovecraftian fantasy elements, while for Dungeon Tickler (which I remind you, is the upcoming Episode 16!) the magical elements will be a bit more traditional, I guess. There will be lots of fantastical species, like Goblins, Harpies, and Fairies. There will also be magic, and you will have Sorceresses, Witches, and Dark Cultists you can use in your team, as well as various enemies. For the character creation, I'm not entirely sure it would work for the Darkest Dungeon game (because of the very specific art style that I want to try to emulate), but it's definitely something I want to include in the future!

I think that'd be cool! Do you think the Darkest Dungeon game will have tickling be something that this Lovecraftian world is centered on? Or will tickling be something the main character has a relationship with and thus, tickling escapades insue?

Hmmm, I think the horror elements might not work that well if all the fighting involved tickling or tickling monsters, so I was thinking of the enemies being more like skeletons, ghosts, wolves, gargoyles, etc. The tickling would take place when the heroes are defeated, and the 'boss' of the area captures them and puts them through some tickle hell, one at a time. I was also thinking of each 'level' ending with one of the heroes being captured to increase that sense of desperation too :D At least, that's my plan for now!.
