Hey everyone, and happy 2024! After a few weeks of work and updates, I've finally finished the last of my Castle Ravenloft updates. I hope you'll be pleased with the changes I've made to enhance such an iconic location.

Though I was not able to get to the parchment version of the map as I wanted, that is something that is still on my radar for the future. However, you'll find in this massive update both updated weather, colors, and asset enhancements, and the biggest change of all is the "restored" version of the castle with some pretty large changes (detailed below).

I've made many changes and enhancements to the next three levels of the castle as detailed here:

Spires of Ravenloft

Some of the new updates you'll find here are:

  • 8 new color variants
  • Updated weather
  • Updated Strahd Painting
  • Enhanced lighting
  • Updated Heart of Sorrows
  • Lunch Break Hereos Version (Removed elevator trap door and created a Bucephalus lair version on the 4th level)
  • Restored versions for each of the main floors (removed rubble, webs, torn and broken furniture, etc)

Larders of Ill Omen

Some of the new updates you'll find here are:

  • 8 new color variants
  • Updated doors and pillars
  • Enhanced lighting
  • Updated Braziers
  • Restored version which includes a cleaned-up wine cellar with full wine racks, an updated and functional kitchen (great for the Strahd Dinner!), updated guard bed areas, servants quarters and guardsroom. Also removed cobwebs, rubble, and broken furniture.

Dungeon & Catacombs

Some of the new updates you'll find here are:

  • 8 new color variants
  • Added a roof option for the crypts
  • Updated doors, pillars, etc
  • Updated stained glass windows in King Barov and Queen Ravenovia's crypt
  • Updated the flooring in Sergei's Crypt
  • Enhanced lighting
  • Restored version which has removed cobwebs and rubble, and the biggest change was I removed the flooded water from the torture room and jail chambers. Updated the torture room a bit, added floor and of course lots of blood for those poor tortured victims. I also aded some signs of excavation in the north tunnel leading to the catacombs.

Because there are too many files to attach to this post, I've added these updates to the Google Drive folder which you can find here.

In addition to the changes mentioned above, you'll find the following in this release:

  • 4k & 8k Resolution
  • Grid & NoGrid
  • 8 Color Variants for each
  • No Light Options
  • Weather Overlays for fog, rain and sun rays
  • Restored version for each map
  • Optional LBH version for the Spires
  • Jpg & Webp file formats
  • VTT Sizing Guide

I adore Castle Ravenloft, and it was fun to revisit these maps, but also a huge amount of work, and I'm happy to move on to my other projects that have been burning in my mind!

Next up, I'll be working on the next location for Saltmarsh, The Empty Net, which I've already started work on. This will feature a creaky dock over the harbor ocean water and a rustic tavern that houses some of the seedier members of Saltmarsh.

Later this month, I'll be working on creating maps for the last adventure for Lunch Break Heroes that will be featured in their adventure book; Librus Nocturnnum, and will be the first official hardback published book I'll have my maps featured in!

After this, I'm looking to finish the first section of the Village of Barovia I did by creating the interiors for each house and, of course, working on updating the other key locations in town.

I have a packed 2024 with map work, but hoping to get some wiggle room to work on other enhancements to my maps as well, which I'll update more on later.

I wish you all an amazing year, and I feel this will be an exciting one for the RPG space. Thank you, as always, for your continued and incredible support, and I look forward to sharing more of my work later this month.

Cheers!

Perfect timing! I've been setting up for Curse of Strahd for a while now and I was initially using your free public maps. Finally, after realizing more than half the maps I was using were DM Andy maps, I got a subscription. I started reworking all my maps to the Champion Tier maps and using your 2.0 Castle Ravenloft when I realized the last little bit wasn't finished yet! Here I was hoping they'd come soon and they did!
