Hey everyone!

I finally had the chance to sit down and get all of my Castle Ravenloft files as consolidated as possible for a single post. These are pretty much the same as my original files, but I'm trying out a new tool to help with jpg optimization to reduce the file size of those massive 8k files. I'm hoping to use this for all future releases to help reduce file size so let me know if you encounter any issues with those (previously) chonky 8k files.

Also, when I first started mapping out Ravenloft, I was still using uneven PPI values, so I've taken the chance to adjust the pixel resolution for an even PPI to make it easier to use with your VTT. I also included a sizing guide for everything all in one place.

This post contains the following:

  • All Ravenloft Maps in day, night, and clean (no lights or fog)
  • Jpg files in 4k and 8k resolution. I did not include Webp files with this one as I was able to reduce the image size by a substantial amount without any quality loss.
  • Grid and NoGrid

I wanted to keep this post down to only a few .zip files (Patreon has a limit of 200mb per file) so I did not include Webps, rain versions, or some of the other variants like the reduced clutter or some of the color moods. However, all of those are still available on the original posts.

Hope this is helpful!

Cheers,

DM Andy

If u wanted to print it out how big would you need to make it

DM_Andy

I'm not an expert on physical printing, but I know a lot of folks like to print at a ratio of 1 square per inch. Most of these are 50x40, and you might want to include a slight border around the edges too. Eventyr Games wrote a great article on how to use a free tool called Poste Razor in order to print on individual pieces of paper and then tape them together. The article link is here: https://eventyrgames.com/2020/01/20/guide-how-to-print-encounter-maps-free-elfsong-tavern-map/ The Poste Razor download tool is here: https://posterazor.sourceforge.io/ Hope that helps!! What OS are you on? I'm on Windows 11. If you install PowerShell you can run a script to go through all the zip files and unzip them all..
