All "Interactive Tome" maps are inspired by the well-written work of The Aciduous Adventurer, and the original adventure can be found on the DMs Guild here.

Hello everyone, and happy Release Monday!

I have been working on maps for the amazing Interactive Tome of Strahd supplement for a while now, and I am very excited that I can almost consider this project complete! Just one more chapter to go, and I also plan on creating a map for the prologue. But for today, I bring you Chapter 11!

This is a harrowing scene your players get to bear witness to. As Strahd and the traitor Rahadin confront the remaining Dusk Elves in Barovia for killing Patrina, you can see the results of Strahd's wraith firsthand.

This scene allows you to show the full extent of how devious the dark lord can be and sell the villain role to your players!

If you are not yet familiar with this fantastic product, you can find a copy of the Interactive Tome of Strahd here, written by the talented Aciduous Adventurer

I repurposed an older map I did for the Vistani camp for this map. However, you'll notice I gave this map a total facelift! I wanted the hill to feel slightly overgrown with tall grass to show the Vistani had not yet arrived to watch over the Dusk Elves. I added deeper shadows to help sell the hill's height and how it overlooks the hovels built into the bottom edges.

Additionally, I made edits to the surrounding foilage to update them in the style I've done on my last few maps and enhanced the shadows inside and outside the hovels.

Of course, the forcecage was just my creative license here. I realize the spell is invisible, but I wanted an almost sith-like red energy barrier to be visible and to reflect Strahd's sinister nature. Naturally, I realize this may not appeal to everyone, so I've included each variant without the forcecage.

For the maps in this release, you'll find the following variants:

  • Grid / Gridless
  • 4k / 8k Resolution
  • Interior / Exterior for the hovels
  • With and without the forcecage
  • Day / Night
  • Clean (No Lights, forcecage, or fog)
  • Rain
  • Webp files in 4k / 8k. If you are using VTTs that accept Webp, these files will be ideal! I've also included a sizing guide document.

I think my workshop has been busier than Santa's this year! I have been working on a series of maps to end 2022 with a bang! The next Lunch Break Heroes adventure will be huge and a unique level 0 zombie adventure to help kick start any campaign or have a night of zombie fun. In addition, I have a massive city map, a sewer map, and maybe.. even a massive walking, pinching, Gnomish apparatus, and possibly more!

After this next release, I'll be taking the first week of Jan off to celebrate the New Year as I often do on the five Monday months, but then I'll be working on finishing both Castle Ravenloft and the Interactive Tome of Strahd.

As always, thank you for your support, engagement, and trust in me to produce battlemaps to help enhance your Dark Fantasy games. You all mean the world to me, and I am thankful I can turn this dream into a reality!

Happy Holidays, and I'll catch up with you on Sneak Peek Thursday!

Cheers,

DM Andy

Dungeon of Terra

How did you get the crate to glow like that by the way? The effect is really cool!

Thank you! I used the pathing tool in various shades of red, white, and pink to create almost a neon-like color. Then I paired it with some red lighting effects and added a blurred wave to create the magical wavelike effect. It was a little tricky and took awhile, but happy with the results. I know the spell is invisible but I'd like to think Strahd's Force Cage would be glowing red :)
