Hey everyone, and happy Release Monday! Today I'm excited to bring you the next map in my fetid swamp map series; The Fallen Tree Bridge

This is part of my generic location encounter maps to give you more swamp options to show the perils of the land by providing hazards for your players to navigate.

I made this a 40-foot drop to the muddy water below full of leeches in my game! The walls of the earth are muddy and hard to climb back up. And while the river is not rushing or perilous on its own, it is shallow and muddy, which risks your heroes getting stuck in the mud and bloody leeches siphoning from them. Additionally, I added a mated pair of basilisks directly below the bridge, which are angered by the intrusion as they protect their eggs.

I'm sure you'll have some awesome fun tormenting your players as they go through the perilous swamp to hunt for the walking hut controlled by the deadly swamp witch.

I wanted to give you enough room on this map to run any possible encounters on either side of the river. Of course, there is the river along with the old fallen tree, so hopefully, you'll find much versatility in this map.

Additionally, I created a version with the tree broken in half (presumably after years of rot) and splashing into the muddy water below. At the bottom of the river, I added a small, shallow cave entrance which I used to add a mated pair of basilisks.

Things can escalate very quickly here! From falling off the bridge, rolling to see if they are stuck in the muddy river below, to looking up to see a basilisk attempting to turn them to stone! Each danger is not too huge on its own but put together, things can get ugly quickly.

For my Champion Tier members, you get the following variants:

  • Grid / Gridless
  • 4k / 8k Resolution
  • All versions have the broken log bridge variant
  • Day / Night
  • Rain
  • Clean (No fog, no bugs, or bug light)
  • Webp files sized for VTT, along with a sizing guide.

As the Holidays approach, I'll be juggling my map work and all the fun distractions that happen this month. For the next project, I plan on releasing the next chapter for the Interactive Tome of Strahd (Chapter 11). I plan on re-purposing my Vistani Camp map and giving it a facelift with much-needed updates from when I first made this map! Then I will be working on a huge map release for the end of the month for the next LBH adventure. Stay tuned for some more details! And, of course, I'll be starting on the Larders of Ill Omen for my Ravenloft series. I can't wait to share these projects with you all!

As always, thank you so much for all of your continued support.

Cheers,

DM Andy
