Update Dec 9th, 2022: I added a new variant for the north tower roof on the castle map without the blur effect. All the .zip files have been updated.

Hey everyone, and happy Release Monday! I'm excited to bring you the following map in my Castle Ravenloft series; The Spires of Ravenloft. I know many of you are excited about the work I've been doing on the castle, and I'm so happy to bring you to the tallest towers of all of Barovia!

I have a lot to go over with this release so let's catch up in the map details section.

First, let's talk about the options here, as there are many! I have six core tower maps to show off each level as the towers ascend (Including the uppermost roof). Additionally, I created another two versions to show all of the floors together in the event you don't want the surrounding castle map.

I wanted to put all six of the tower floors on a single map, but the map canvas was so huge, and the floors were so small I was not happy with the quality loss and decided to split them into two maps.

Of course, for the tower maps, I have Day, Night, Rain, and Clean versions, and I also created a set of Day maps without the Heart of Sorrows (or the light from the Heart of Sorrows). I also made a Clean Version with and without the Heart of Sorrows.

The map breakdown is as follows:

  • Tower w/ Castle level 1: Day, Night, Rain, Clean, Day without Heart lights
  • Tower w/ Castle level 2: Day, Night, Rain, Clean, Day without Heart lights
  • Tower w/ Castle level 3: Day, Night, Rain, Clean, Clean without Heart, Day without Heart lights
  • Tower w/ Castle level 4: Day, Night, Rain, Clean, Day without Heart lights
  • Tower w/ Castle level 5: Day, Night, Rain, Clean
  • Tower w/ Castle level 6 (Roof): Day, Night, Rain, Clean
  • Tower only levels 1-3 Only
  • Tower only levels 4-6 Only

I also added a height marker for the tower-only parchment maps, so you always know how far up your players are. You know, just in case they fall out of one of the towers!

The map grid sizes are as follows:

  • All Towers - Lower Levels = 60x40
  • All Towers - Upper Levels = 40x40
  • Castle Maps w/ Towers = 50x40

As you can imagine, there are many options and files to download, and there are over 200+ files in this release!

In addition to the variants mentioned above, my Champion Tier patrons get the following:

  • Grid / NoGrid
  • 4k / 8k Resolution
  • Webp versions of all in 4k and 8k with a VTT sizing guide

Lastly, as a friendly reminder, I cannot create .png files of each tower floor, sadly, as this is against Inkarnate terms and conditions. But I'm hoping you'll enjoy all the tower floor maps, which should help with numerous map switching.

December is always a crazy month with the Holidays and lots going on around the DM Andy Maps household. However, I still plan on keeping up my weekly map releases so I don't get too far behind and can keep up the work I've been doing to finish Ravenloft. With that said, I will be (finally) releasing a new swamp map for random encounters, working on Chapter 11 of the Interactive Tome of Strahd (So close to being done!), and of course, the next Lunch Break Heroes original adventure. And finally, I'll begin work on the following Ravenloft map as we descend into the Larders of Ill Omen!

As always, I'm incredibly humbled by your support, and I hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday month. Catch you on Sneak Peek Thursdays!

Cheers,

DM Andy

These are great Andy! I'm using the individual maps, and notice there isn't a North Tower Roof. The "all floor" version has one, but does it exist as an individual? I see it on your exterior version but it doesn't show the blur from the height.

DM_Andy

Ah, yes, I see what you mean. I made the castle maps match the diagram from the CoS book, and it does leave out that sort of mid-section, but happy to create a version without the blur on the north tower roof. The 8k exports take some time, so I should have that done this week (unless you're in a rush, let me know)

Hi Andy! Love the maps! Great work! "4k_Jpg_Ravenloft_SoR.zip" seems to be missing the "no heart, no grid, night" variant of level 3 and the "heart, no grid, night" variant of level 4

DM_Andy

Hey Lukas! So I initially didn't include the no heart version for the night maps as I was trying to keep the exports at a reasonable amount (since I have 200+ files haha). But with that said, I'm happy to update files for what you need! I included no heart versions in the 4k jpg .zip for the no-grid versions for levels 3 & 4. I also noticed the "With heart" version of lvl 4 was not as bright as I'd liked after further review, so I amped up the heart glow creeping up the stairs. So, in short, I included 3 new files for the 4k folder for you: 1. Night lvl 3 without heart 2. Night lvl 4 without heart light 3. Night lvl 4 with heart (but increased brightness) I hope this helps! Let me know if you need anything else!
