All "Interactive Tome" maps are inspired by the well-written work of The Aciduous Adventurer, and the original adventure can be found on the DMs Guild here.

Hey everyone and happy New Release Monday! For today's map release, I am bringing you chapter 9 from the amazing Interactive Tome of Strahd third party supplement written by the talented Aciduous Adventurer! This awesome PDF can be picked up on the DMs Guild here and is an extremely useful supplement to the lackluster Tome of Strahd magic item. This will guide you and your players through the entire history of Strahd, starting with his childhood and invasion of Barovia and taking you through his dark transformation. This lets your party not only see, but interact with the history of Barovia in a fun and exciting way.

To be clear, I did not create or write this supplement and all credit goes to The Aciduous Adventurer. However, since there were little maps included in the PDF, I've been mapping out each chapter at a time and I'm nearly done!

These maps were a little tricky as it included elements from a total of three of my previous map releases. I wanted to be sure you had enough room on the exterior map to include all of the NPCs that are involved here. I made sure to include a good portion of the road to Ravenloft, the guard towers, bridge and the front half of the exterior of the castle. This allows your party to descend below with Strahd and fight either on the ramparts, in the courtyard, or on the bridge itself. I made changes such as restored the roof of the guard towers to the west of the drawbridge, fixed up the drawbridge and made is less broken from the present day bridge, and removed some clutter and repaired the roof from the castle to make it just a tad different from the present day Ravenloft versions.

Of course I included many options for you so you can choose your favorite, or even approach this as a phased encounter. I added some siege defenses and torch light, then expanded it to some flaming arrows which are starting to ignite the castle roofs and wood (thought not by much since everything is wet from the rain!) and of courses added tons of bodies piled up at the gatehouse! Lastly, I include a fun version which features the blood rain that causes fear in Strahd's enemies. I thought it would be fun for your party to visually see the carnage of this gruesome encounter.

For the Dining Hall, I included a bit of the outside and the main halls connecting to the dining hall so you can keep track of the returning rogue. I added the five slain vampires to the room and signs of battle, removed some clutter and webs, and moved the pipe organ a bit so your party can sneak through the secret entrance.

No matter which path your party takes, you'll have some pretty epic maps to relive this amazing encounter!

For my Champion Tier Patrons, you get the following with this release:

  • Dining Hall
  • Exterior Castle
  • Clean Versions (Less fog, no lights, fire, etc)
  • No Bodies Version for the exterior
  • Blood Rain Version for the exterior
  • All maps in 4k & 8k
  • Resized Webp files for VTT along with a sizing guide both in 4k & 8k

I have already started work on the next level of Ravenloft: The Court of the Count which I hope to be my next release. Beyond that, I'll be planning out Chapter 10 of the Interactive Tome of Strahd (The monastery), the next level of Ravenloft: The Rooms of Weeping, and the next original adventure from Lunch Break Heroes! All the gears are churning over in the DM Andy workshop and I'm so humbled and honored you're all with me for this journey! Stay tuned for Sneak Peek Thursday where I will show you a snippet of the next release.

Cheers,

DM Andy

I love how you tailor your variations to the story. Having them all and being able to swap between them depending on the situation is perfect.

Thank you so much! I know if you are using the Roll20 VTT you can create a multi-sided token map to switch between maps for the different variants.
