Update July 28, 2022: Pyram King was nice enough to allow me to share the PDF he created for this location with all of my patrons! You can now find the adventure PDF attached.

I'm sure most of you know Pyram King by now as him and I have been on this journey together, but those of you who don't can find his amazing content for CoS here:

Hey everyone and happy Release Monday! Today, I bring you an exciting location that I was overjoyed to work on; The Swamp Village. This map was a special request by Pyram King and he will be creating additional lore for the creatures that live here. Stay tuned on his YouTube channel for a video about this! I really enjoyed his idea of adding these evil frog-like creatures to the swamps and find it very fitting for your party to encounter.

For this release, I have created four different variants to give you lots of options! Each variant has a version with and without the effigy in the center of the map so you can use this for the Pyram King content, or you can use the throne for your own king / queen in your own games! The throne was the focal point of the map and I love the idea of a massive leader sitting on their throne while their servants bring them trinkets and prisoners!

In addition to the throne, you'll find two sentry towers; one to the north and one to the south while they keep a keen eye out for intruders and watch over their leader. Behind the throne you'll find two massive trees with multiple bone cages swinging from their branches. I included six cages total as most D&D parties are around 4-6. You know, just in case you decide to have your players captured and put into cages!

If you take a close look at the interiors of the huts, I made sure to make each hut 100% unique and added some flavor. There is a tanner, a seer, a butcher, a hunter, a fisher, a scrimshander, and a tadpole keeper! Speaking of tadpoles, you'll find a nice little tadpole pool in the upper right of the map. These creatures feed their offspring blood which, combined with the swamp hags dark magic, creates more creautres to grow their community.

I hope you enjoy exploring the huts as much as I enjoyed creating them!

For my Champion Tier patrons, you get the following variants:

  • Gridded / NoGrid Versions
  • Day / Night
  • Clean Version (no fog, lights, fire, etc)
  • Blood Swamp Version
  • All versions come with and without the Baba effigy sitting on the throne
  • All versions have both interior and exterior for the huts
  • 4k / 8k Resolution
  • Webp files in 4k / 8k sized for VTTs along with a sizing guide for Roll20 & Foundry

This week I'll be starting my work on creating chapter 8 for the Interactive Tome of Strahd. This will include a witches hut, the Ravenloft spire containing the Heart of Sorrow, and the Standing Stones in Berez. I also have been asked to crates maps for another Lunch Break Heroes adventure; The Hunger and I'll be also planning out location "I" on the Map of Barovia which will contain the west gate and the fork in the road with Strahd's carriage. This is the 1st map in my series of maps leading up to Castle Ravenloft!

Additionally, I also plan on starting a YouTube series where I do a map retrospective. I'd like to talk about maps that I have released, point out details I've added, talk about my inspiration, and even discuss some of the technical work I did for those of you using Inkarnate. Stay tuned for that!

As always, I'm humbled by your continued support and so thankful you are part of the DM Andy map community! Until next time.

Cheers,

DM Andy
