All "Interactive Tome" maps are inspired by the well-written work of The Aciduous Adventurer, and the original adventure can be found on the DMs Guild here.
Hey everyone! Excited for another Release Monday as I bring you chapter 7 of the amazing supplement; The Interactive Tome of Strahd. If you have not yet seen or heard of this supplement, it takes your players through all of Strahd's memories as they find the Tome of Strahd item. It allows them to learn the history of Barovia and how Strahd became to be the dark lord he is today. You can find it here (and I highly recommend it).
In this chapter, your players can choose to side with, or fight against Strahd as he begins his corruption of the Gulthias tree at the druids grove on Yester Hill. For this map, I created a large area (60x60) and re-worked my Gulthias tree for this instance. You can give your players a chance to see the tree before it began oozing blood and the corruption and rot set in. I also plan on using this map as my base for creating my Gulthias Tree present day version 2.0 in the future!
I wanted to also point out that I made sure the distance to the southern edge of the map and the small entrance at the base of the tree was consistent with the amount of turns it would take Strahd's zombies to move to the tree.
Lastly, I've started tweaking my rain and night maps a bit more to enhance the vibrancy and mood of the weather. Rain maps are a bit darker and greyer and include puddles, water splashes and rain droplets, while night maps have a stronger moonlit feel to them. I hope you'll enjoy these changes!
As always for my Champion Tier patrons you get the following variants:
- Grid / Gridless
- Day / Night
- Rain / No Rain (both day and night)
- Clean version (no rain, god rays, etc)
- Webp Versions in both 4k and 8k, including a Foundry sizing guide document
Up next: I'm putting the finishing touches on the next Lunch Break Heroes adventure which is going to be a massive release! It will include four maps total and I think you'll be able to make great use of all maps for any purpose! Additionally, I'll be working on my "road to Argynvostholt" map which will feature the winding mountain road leading to the keep and of course Interactive Tome of Strahd Chapter 8. Still lots in the works so stay tuned!
Cheers,
DM Andy
