Greetings everyone and happy Monday!

I'm always excited on Monday's to release my newest map to this amazing community of DM's and map enthusiasts. Today, I have a very special release for you; The City of Marionette's

This was a side project I had been working on for a classic AD&D adventure featuring the town of Odiare. This location has resurfaced in Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft in a small paragraph on page 171 (though it looks like they changed the name from Odiare to Odaire). This gives a nugget of an idea but it's a great jumping off point! The toy maker Guiseppe had created his only child, the marionette Maligno. Feeling the mistrust of the other townsfolk of Maligno being a "real boy" he convinced his father to make him siblings. Together, they got rid of all the adults in the town and now the city is ruled over by this dark lord along with the children. This provides some great, Lord of the Flies inspired story beats and a good opportunity to use the neat stat block for the Carrionette (pg. 231).

With the massive scale of this map (over 60 buildings) you could also use this for a larger scale Vallaki (though as written, Vallaki is a smaller town with dirt roads, I personally like to run it as a much larger city).

I also created a DM Version to show you all of the various locations detailed around the city (and I added personal touches for each location to make them visible from the map level). I also created a dynamic night map which hides the vendor stalls and goods being displayed at night. I hope you enjoy this huge city map!

For my Champion Tier patrons, this map comes in the following variants:

  • Grid / Gridless
  • 4k and 8K
  • Day / Night
  • Variant Night maps including fog
  • No vendor stalls version for the day map (Good for adding your own night filter with your VTT)
  • Webp files in both 4k and 8k
  • DM Version with numbered locations

I have plans to do separate maps for two of the interior map locations; The Toy Shop and the Theatre so stay tuned for that!

Up next, I'll be putting the finishing touches on my Yester Hill Berserker Cairn map this week. Additionally, I'm working on a new forest location for the Svalich Woods, more Interactive Tome of Strahd Maps, a few more Berez locations and some collab maps with content creators Pyram King and Lunch Break Heroes! Stay tuned!

Cheers,

DM Andy

Sounds good, how's the progress going on that one probably one of the next few Monday releases?

I ran this adventure a few months ago! I wish I'd had these maps then!
