Hey everyone, and happy New Release Monday! Today, I am releasing my re-work of one of the older maps I did when I first started: Mad Mary's Townhome.

This was originally featured in my first edition of the Village of Barovia map, but as I re-work VoB, I wanted to give each key location its own dedicated map. This will allow me to expand the details and flavor of the map and make it more visually stunning.

As your players first enter the village and hear the wailing and crying from this home, they are sure to want to investigate. Now they can!

Though this is a smaller map, gridded at only 15x20, I think you'll find plenty of detail here. This is one of the larger homes in the village, and I also added a rusty iron fence in the backyard where our beloved dog Lancelot is normally kept. However, a small broken section of fence allowed our furry friend to escape, and perhaps your adventurers might find him before the worst happens!

This map features three core versions:

  • 1st Floor
  • 2nd Floor
  • Roof Level

I added the boarded-up windows as specified in the module and a standard set of rooms you'd find in a simple home like this. The module did not specify if Mary had a spouse, but I added a headstone in the backyard to nod to either her parents, spouse, or other loved one. I hope these little details will help fuel your imagination when building encounters here.

Additionally, you'll find the house is generally damaged. The household chores are not being done while Mary mourns the loss of her daughter. You'll find dresses, dolls, and plenty of books in Gertruda's room. As this poor girl was kept locked inside the home, she occupied herself with fantasy and adventure tomes, possibly leading to her wanderlust. Sadly, this romanticized view of Barovia will be met with the harsh realities of Strahd's domain.

For my Champion Tier Patrons, I have included the following in this release:

  • 3 Core maps; 1st Floor, 2nd Floor, Roof level
  • 4k & 8k Resolution
  • Grid & NoGrid
  • No Lights Version
  • 6 Color Moods: Gloom, Dark Fairytale, Ghostly, Night, Warm, & Sunny Day
  • Jpg & Webp file formats
  • VTT Sizing Guide

I wanted to revisit an older project and finish the last few maps I needed. Mainly the Interactive Tome of Strahd (Third-party content available on the DMsGuild), where we explore the history of Strahd and Barovia. One of the locations I wanted to finish was the Burgomaster's Manor in Berez before it was destroyed. Manor maps are pretty time-intensive, so they might not be done for a few weeks, but you can expect that coming up (plus, manor maps are always handy for general use).

Next up, I will be creating my rework of the River Ivlis Crossroads (Named "Gallows Crossroads") and featuring some of the new assets I've been commissioning to have done exclusively for my maps!

On the Ghosts of Saltmarsh front, I'll be working on Hoowatch Tower before heading over to Sharkfin Bridge and the town proper.

Plus, you can expect more CoS reworks as I update my older work (including the church/graveyard, Blood on the Vine, Bildraths, and more).

Time permitting, I'd like to create more general-use maps (more roads, crypts, ruined buildings, etc.) that you can pepper into your adventures. This will keep me pretty busy over the course of the next few months, so lots of goodies are in the pipeline!

As always, thanks for your continued support!!

Cheers,

DM Andy

Hey Andy, Stunning visuals. Why don't you come advertise on the CoS discord sometimes? :)

Thanks for the reminder! I have so much going on I forget about the many servers I'm in, but next time I post on the CoS sub Reddit, I'll post on the Discord server too :) Glad you like the work!

Andy, I don't mean to flatter you, but you're a UFO in the map maker galaxy. The level of detail and quality in your maps is dazzling. I sometimes get frustrated when I don't have more storylines to offer my players, so that they spend much more time on each map.

I truly cannot thank you enough for such kind words and your continued support over the years for both mine and Pyram's work and your own contributions as well. I very much appreciate you taking the time to say this and am forever greatful for you! Cheers
