First episode on the new channel, big new contract lots of new viewers. And they have the worst prize tasks ever and a first task where everyone is disqualified haha I love this show. Takes a bit of adapting to the covid shows but they're still great, love this lineup

Josh, I think you nailed it with "any form of entertainment during the pandemic brings some level of comfort". This series more than any other had a real sense of community (imho) as everyone was at home watching and my friends and I were all messaging each other as it aired. And without wanting to sound corny, the contestants working together to help each other in the final task hit just the right note at that particular time! Remember that the contestants had to be locked down at home too (this was mentioned on the podcast), and as this was the first time they could get together with people in general outside of their homes, feelings were weird and emotions were running high! The performances in this episode, though, jeez. You had a heavily pregnant Daisy thinking 'fuck it, just bring in some wine' and laughing uncontrollably, Johnny having a heart of gold and doing his best but ultimately failing, Katherine doing a pretty poor job and then looking like she doesn't know whether to laugh or cry in the studio, Mawaan looking cool but instantly erasing any goodwill from Greg with the helium egg, and Richard working hard to please Daddy like a good little schoolboy! I don't remember how the rest of the episodes played out exactly, but I have a feeling we'll look back on this episode as one that very much sets the tone for the rest of the series!

I think onehub is down, I tried watching something else and it says they're currently making upgrades.

I completely forgot you hadn't done a poll for this. Them being separated definitely affects the feel of the show but it was still enjoyable :) Aw Johnny Vegas always seems like a genuinely sweet person to me :D I get the feeling they're all going to be a little bit shite for some reason lol but I could be wrong. Thanks Josh :)

For me, Josh (and I'd imagine quite a few other people on here) it was your daily Idiot Abroad reactions in May 2020 that brought me much-needed entertainment during the pandemic, so a belated thank you for that! Many a stressful night or a dull morning got livened up by those YouTube videos, and they're the main memories worth hanging on to from that time. The outtakes from Series 10 illustrate how weird it must have been for them to do these recordings without a live audience to play to. There's no laughter dubbed on, so you can see it as it was: just seven comedians in a big old room, making each other laugh as best they can. This week, the sight of albumen dribbling from the tip of Katherine's enormous pipe prompts some insalubrious thoughts in everyone except poor, innocent Mawaan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERLvefF8jlA

Absolutely, well said. Personally I was already having a tough time right when the lockdowns started and that just made everything even worse. I was stuck at home, alone, so I felt really isolated and down at that time and Josh's Ricky Gervais Show and Idiot Abroad reactions were a little comfort I could look forward to every day. They were the only thing that gave me a good laugh and made me forget everything for a while. I'll always be very grateful to Josh for that :) Thank you Josh.

Thanks bud I appreciate that. Those were hilarious and helpful in a tough time. Thanks for the link bud I will check that out.

Honestly at this point it's only another 5 series after this, might as well just watch it all 😝 It's such a fun show!

Mawaan trying to fill an egg with helium so it'll float across the room may be the most insane thing anyone has ever done 😂

I love the real Johnny, not the shouty one... There's a documentary type show which I can't remember the name, where it follows Johnny around the country trying to buy land for his new glamping business project that really shows him a good light and as a genuine nice person.

QadenJames

I always remembered this being a slightly weaker series, maybe cos of the covid changes, but this episode was absolutely hilarious, so I'm probably completely wrong! Thanks Josh!!!!!

VEGGIE GAMER

I remember enjoying this series well enough, but it does have one moment which made me laugh so hard I literally couldn't stop CRYING. XD Don't want to give too much away, but it is Johnny.. not really coping well with a task. XD

One of my favourite series, not sure why people think it’s weaker, probably because there’s no audience, but I still think it’s great. Can’t wait till you get to see Daisy May Cooper in This Country
