Best live task ever, Eds absolute fury at Davids ineptitude solidified him as my all time favourite Taskmaster contestant. He was especially hard done by because they mixed the teams up for the first time ever for no apparent reason other than thinking it'd be funny to put David with Ed 😂 He'd been on Rose and Katys team the whole series!

VAR is Video Assistant Referee in football (soccer.) They use replays and freeze frame to make decisions for example to determine if a player was offside or if there was handball. Its quite controversial because it has often been applied badly.

Putting David and Ed together at the end was perfect and Ed's two handed facepalming when he saw what David had drawn was great 😄 Although I do think the normal two teams are just right, I think David and Ed being paired off for team tasks would have created some hilarious moments too. Overall great episode, sad it's nearly over.

Series 10 has the weakest cast imo don't find daisy may Cooper or Johnny Vegas particularly funny and Katherine parkinson was just useless lol

Ah, your reaction to the live task didn't disappoint! First time I saw it, I had to pause the episode when David showed his picture of the random face because I genuinely couldn't breathe for laughing (and as everyone else has said, it's Ed's reactions that really take it to another level). Although it's a strength of TM that they have a totally new cast each time, so each series develops a unique comedy dynamic which you enjoy in the knowledge it'll soon be gone for good, I do sometimes wish they'd give us an occasional one-off special where fans get the chance to vote all-time favourites back on, so we might see pairings like Ed & David or Rhod & James Acaster one more time. Champion of Champions is alright, but the people who win each series often aren't the funniest ones! I agree, Vegas was very disappointing in S10 and the woman next to him unbelievably annoying... It also had a weird feel to it with covid, the missing audience and them having to sit 6ft apart... The weakest season by far for me.

Coming after season 8, Ed Gamble struck me as a likable version of Ian Stirling. Ian Stirling had similar bouts of shouty rage, but Ed makes them funny.

Weird, I thought it was just me who didn't enjoy them. I often just skip the final tasks. But yeah, this one was probably the highlight of the episode.
