I'm only 5 mins into the episode but you seem to really be enjoying it! I was worried the humour might not translate but as the show goes on it get's better and you seem to be really warming to it! So many good lines.. 'Are you ill?' 'You've gone wrong', 'CHEESE IS A KIND OF MEAT, A TASTY YELLOW BEEF' lmfaoo

Oh god 'cheese is a kind of meat, a tasty yellow beef, I milk it from my teat...' 😂 that's my favourite bit of the show so far. I had to watch that part about 10 times. Josh, your reaction made it so much funnier too, the look on your face when he started, then that 'no!' and your laugh 🤣 that was perfect. Thanks, this really cheered me up today :)

You've pretty much got it right about Mods: it's short for Modernists, and began as a UK subculture in the early 1960s who were constantly looking to embrace smart new styles, adopting European (especially Italian) fashion and listening to cutting-edge music, while rockers were seen as more stuck in the 1950s and influenced by American styles. Around the mid-Sixties they fractured along class lines, with the more middle-class mods getting into hippie stuff while the working-class mods (who tended to live in areas with high Caribbean immigration) began listening to ska and reggae, and evolved into the first skinheads. I think the American subculture you described who were rivals of greasers in the 1960s went by a variety of names like "socs" and "squares"; they were similar to mods in some ways (smart clothes) but different in others (saw Beatles-style mod haircuts as too scruffy and didn't obsess about music to the same extent).

Fun little tidbit. Netflix had to remove Mighty Boosh because of the 'blackface' you see throughout the series. It was deemed insensitive
