I've been waiting for you to get to this episode so I can show you this 😂. If you go to the 36-minute mark in this documentary about the seaside town of Blackpool, you'll see the original inspiration for "Tina" as mentioned in an interview with Steve and Reece. The woman's on cloud fucking 9 but the old people love it 😂😂😂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbLYNIVugA8

It's amazing, isn't it 😂 Not sure if this will interest you, but in another Blackpool documentary at 15:50, there's the only existing footage of the old couple who do the hilarious Spanish dance that Josh loved at the end of one of the episodes of phoenix nights. Also an absolute GEM. Blackpool is a weird place. Very royston vasey! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0YD-beoZNI

Yeah it's great 😂 Thanks, just watched the second clip, I didn't realise they were a real act 😁 Those kinds of documentaries must be a goldmine for some comedians lol. I haven't been to Blackpool for about 20 years, have some fun memories from trips there as a kid :)

Slightly embarrassed to admit this but having never myself seen his programmes like Hancocks Half Hour before would anyone else be able to recommend Tony Hancock (“BASTARD!!”😂😂) as an appropriate show for Josh to react to? I know that the man is still held in very high regard by many to this day as is often cited as one of the UK’s comedy greats.

William Burnham

Of note the man directing Debbie is played by Hollywood legend John Landis

Dylan

We’ve got to see a reaction that that clip. Jesus Christ it’s dreadful 😂

The phone call Biggins was on (about filming in Sheperton) was referring to a UK reality show called 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here' where fairly low key celebs are taken to the Australian Jungle and have to survive eating rice and beans and camping in squalor while everyday they try to do tasks to get better food.. The tasks include disgusting food (i.e Kangaroo Anus as he mentioned).. and demeaning and scary challenges, while the public vote for who to do the challenges every day and who gets kicked out, with them all vying to be the last one standing. The joke was that its not real apparently and filmed in Sheperton.. (though it isn't really)

I saw all the Hancock episodes about 10 years ago and it still holds up very well but I'm not sure if it would make a good reaction.

@Bella, I had no idea they were an act either until I listened to the commentary track on the Phoenix nights dvd's (which I also highly recommend btw!). Peter mentioned "the Rumbergers" so I looked them up and found this documentary. And they're a goldmine for anyone. I could watch them for hours 😂 @Dylan, I'd love to see Josh react to both, but that Tina really is bottom-of-the-barrel cringe humour and it's amazing 😂. It's only short, so maybe he could slip it before the start of the next episode😉 😉

Keith Pratt

I saw them when they were repeated in the eighties, can't remember them too well.

AfterWorkReactions

Oh ok lol so like Survivor over here but with celebrities. I think there may have even been a season or a spinoff with just famous people.

Can do bud but as I say it is a VERY old show so could be seen as quite dated and clearly Mr Lomax will not be a fan of the idea! 😂
