Awesome reaction, man! Honestly, I love this episode so much. Really draws back the humour to show the human side of the 2 characters! Love that it didn't end on a big joke, just a sign that Godber is learning from Fletch! An early example of a comedy sending out a really awesome message! Love that you picked up on all that!! :)

It's interesting to watch these early episodes of Porridge, especially to see how it developed into what it became. What's most interesting for me is how they hadn't yet incorporated the back and forth relationship between Fletcher and the prison warden Mr. Mackay, which is arguably where the best of Porridge's comedy came from.
