Next show in this slot NEEDS to be Psychoville and THEN Inside No. 9, both of which are written by/starring Reece and Steve. I'm all for democracy on Josh's channel (fortunate to be enjoying six out of seven slots), but little else can fill the void that TLOG will leave behind, and there's a definite advantage in Josh watching these shows while League is still fresh. C'mon people: if you agree, then choose *ONLY* Psychoville at the next vote, and we'll go for IN9 after that. DON'T dilute your vote by choosing multiple shows! That's how Gavin & Stacey won.

JOSH: In regards to the joke which you didn't understand; an English schoolboy who sucks up to teacher (and often offers teacher an apple in order to curry favour) is called a "swot" in slang term. An American elite force of breach and enter officers is named the SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) team. Therefore, the joke was that she dismissed a couple of school kids with shiny apples in hand as backup for the entry into Tubbs and Edward's abode by saying "I told you, no SWOT team!".

The end to a great show phychoville is definitely a good idea for the future see at the end if the reaction u mentioned it definitely one to pick up in the future josh

The woman in the opening titles with "I wish my car was this dirty" written in the dirt on her back is a reference to a (probably British) tradition where young men write "I wish my wife was this dirty" in the dirt on the back of dirty vehicles (usually white commercial vans). XD

JOSH: Yes, it's the same red bag. Also the ending talk with Auntie Val telling Benjamin "You can't go back, but you can visit" is a meta comment on the reunion special itself. Remember that us fans waited 15 years for these three anniversary specials. It was the boys saying that they've moved on in their careers but that they were happy to revisit their characters from Royston Vasey.

I love the genie scene with Papa. When I first saw this episode upon broadcast, I hated that moment. I thought "nooooo, they've ruined it!" but then the reveal happened that it was all in Ritchie's head and I immediately laughed and applauded. What a fantastically subversive scene.

There was a very subtle joke that's often missed in this ep. When Les is talking to the pop star and listing potential bandmates he says "No , operation yewtree" , referring to the fact that who ever it was , was a pedo basically, caught out by a massive operation in the UK by the police called operation Yewtree . Alot of them were celebs in the 60s to 90s , which would have been Les's era somewhere in that range. Not explaining it very well, but there ya go

Also, the 'fit in the jar' scene is a reference to an old movie called 'The Thief of Baghdad' where the main character tricks a genie into sealing himself away thusly. It's an obscure reference these days but I was familiar with it as its one of my dad's favourite movies. Interestingly despite being set in Baghdad they managed to make it in London during the Blitz in 1940!

Admittedly rather selfishly, I'm always quite disappointed when a show that I haven't seen (or haven't heard even heard of) wins a poll over a show that I'd like to see Josh react to, as was the case with TLOG. However, I gave it a try and have absolutely loved it. Hilariously brilliant from start to finish. Season 3 extremely different but a nice and welcome change in my opinion. Absolutely loved Season 4 and can feel the intended nostalgia, despite the fact that it has been released only a week later on Josh's patreon, haha. Am really looking forward to hopefully watching Pyschoville & Inside No. 9 on here soon for the first time :)

Also that very story originally comes from one of the tales of the 1001 Arabian Nights, specifically The Fisherman and the Genie. I remember it being featured in one of my 'Little Story Teller' book & audio cassettes I had as a kid :)

Love the way it ends - especially given how long it was between 3 and 4. Don't think many of us expected them to come back so to hear them still say they can't look back but can still 'visit,' it leaves it open for a possible return. Hopefully you'll be doing the film and the stage show (including pantomime if your bag. It is really funny and well done) - and then Psychoville followed by Inside No. 9. You'll never leave!!!! Haha
