If you haven't seen the trailer for tucker and dale yet then I would recommend you do not watch it before you've seen the film.

Richard M

Never seen Tucker and Dale so that could be interesting. Mean Machine is abysmal. But Roger Rabbit and especially Fargo winning is very pleasing 👍🏻

Michael Harrop

Who framed Roger Rabbit gave me horrific nightmares for years when I was younger😅

Sam Reeves

Tucker and Dale finally!

Starlight

(Below are Sam's words not mine on a different movie) "Comedy is subjective, but if you rate [Tucker and Dale] you are objectively an idiot. You are a tasteless dullard with no right recommending anything to anyone. [Tucker and Dale] fans are morons. " (your words about Josh's patrons, different film) and yeah... 🎣... I know....

Finally Fargo! The best Coen brothers film in my opinion. The addition of Tucker and Dale is just icing on the cake. Two out of four ain't bad, especially when the two are as good as these.

Stop fighting fellow Patreons! I have two words for you... 'Far' and 'Go'. Together they make up Fargo. (That's how they say "fuck off!" in Minnesota, apparently.) This is a time to be happy.

Tony Smyth

Thanks for the heads-up Hiphop. I'm still tempted to check out the trailer though. Thing is, I have to be sure it isn't about animated chipmunks. Please tell me it isn't.

Good set this month. Especially surprised and pleased about WFRR. Least interesting to me is Mean Machine, but it"s still good fun!

TheHigh

haven't seen any of them , should be fun ;p

Saul

Withnail And I, arguably the greatest independent British comedy ever made, with one of the finest comedic performances ever? Or a Vinnie Jones vehicle? Apparently it's the latter. Gah, it's the hope each month that kills you. I'm sorry that complaints upset people but FFS....there's a contingent of Brits here whose only cinematic interests seem to be Guy Ritchie mockney gangster stuff and films about football hooligans and it's really bringing the movie choices down.

Jay

I haven't seen Mean Machine apart from the trailer, which looks like quite a good Guy Ritchie knock off. Still not sure why poorJosh has to be put through Football movies though. Also looking forward to Tucker and Dale, as I've heard good things about it. The other two are classics. It's sad that this forum is increasingly turning into a toxic waste ground for nasty bitching towards patreons that choose films and shows that some people don't like. There's quite a bit of negativity on the Red Dwarf posts also, but at least that's constructive criticism. Telling others that they're "stupid or have a "low IQ" for enjoying a certain thing is just toxic ranting from people that think their tastes and opinions are better than others, and want everything their own way. There's really nothing admirable or edgy about hating on stuff, or putting others down. It's become a cheap way of getting attention and gaining a false sense of importance. This forum should be about us all enjoying the reactions and enjoying the process of choosing the films, not getting shitty because our favourite hasn't been chosen.

Jay

I don't think it's the complaints as such, it's the manner in how the complaints are made that are upsetting some. Perhaps the Footy films are being chosen because some of Josh's patreons enjoy him getting involved in part of British culture. I get that, but personally I think it's unfair considering Josh has said before that he dislikes sports movies. Either way it's a democratic vote, and it doesn't always suit some people. It's not the end of the world though.

Jay

Raising Arizona is another of my favourites. I hope it gets on the polls at some point.

My expectations were low when I saw the numbers on the poll, but actually once today is over with it's a pretty good month!

Starlight

Well said Jay 👏 Hear! Hear! Always a strong voice of reason and fairness here, thank you! 😊

Danny

For what it's worth, judging by the poll December should be Whithnail and I and Dirty Grandpa. It'd be nice get a Christmas film Josh hasn't seen on the poll. It's hard since I'm guessing he would have seen the big ones like Die Hard, Home Alone, Miracle on 34th Street, Muppets Christmas Carol etc

Agreed on all fronts. Not a bad line up all things considered. I'm particularly excited to see Josh's reaction to 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit?'. 'Fargo' is of course a classic and I've not seen 'Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil' but I've heard good things. 'Mean Machine' is the usual monthly nomination where I'm left scratching my head and wondering why people upvoted that turd of a film though, especially given that Josh has already made it clear that he doesn't particularly enjoy sports films or have an understanding of English football culture. Still, that's the democratic process for you.

Saul

Withnail? Like a mirage it appears on the horizon every now and then. And then you reach said mirage and it turns out it's not Withnail And I, it's Dude Where's My Car? or White Chicks or something. 😁 Ah well.
