This is where the show starts for me. Love it!

Finally, the Meldrews are home!

Mr Swainey is hysterical, you'll find the neighbours (both sides) make this great show even greater!

Another great reaction dude this was the season I started watching from didn't see season 1 till a long way down the line. I could quote the entire scene at the demolished house by the time I was 6, had no idea what half of it meant lol

Buckle up your seat for the rollercoast of laughter to come Josh as the first season set getting to know some of the characters nicely. Enjoy

Andy Farmer

Still................. at least that horrible smell near the sideboard will be gone

Andrew

Yes, this is from where OFITG really finds it's feet - much hilarity to come...

Danny

That number 10 house they went to looked suspiciously like their old house inside! Guess they was limited on sets hah

Ian Richards

Definitely the beginning of the OFITG golden era now that Mr Swainey's re-introduced (along with the ever-invisible Mother; not sure if you got the reference there, Josh, but it's a tongue-in-cheek nod to the Hitchcock film Psycho, where the serial killer Norman Bates keeps his dead mother in an attic room and has "conversations" with her as though she's still alive). Plus the show really shifts gears in a few episodes when Patrick & Pippa come along. The first series established the characters well and had some good comic ideas, but Victor really hits the heights when he's got neighbours to drive him insane.

now youre at season 2, little odd fact ( no spoiler ) the house shown externally is a REAL house of course ,but they stuck on a fake small window left of the front door for the downstairs toilet shown in the " studio set house/internal " Im into real locations and houses floor plans etc in popular shows ,bit nerdy but u know lol

Rob Walters

So glad you are now on the road with 'One Foot In The Grave' series 2 as the show becomes absolutely hilarious and brilliant from here on in. You've already met Mrs. Warboys and Mr. Swainey but you'll adore them before long, and the many other regulars you are yet to meet, Josh. This is gonna be the most exciting watch along with you since 'Fools and Horses' for me!!

Ryan Lynch

@Ben Last week pointed out correctly that Victor stated "I don't believe it!" for the first time. I highlighted that it was in the middle of the sentence and wondered when it would be first uttered as a standalone phrase. Turns out it was this one episode later.

Regarding what happened with the snake in a bag at the end of the previous episode; how do you think Snakes on a Plane happened?

Anonymous

Well spotted! I actually haven't watched this reaction yet, just about to now. But from the comments I've just seen it seems that it's getting closer to the OFITG that I remember, with the neighbours etc.

BigChanChan

This is the first time I've watched it since I watched it with my dad a few decades ago and I'm really enjoying it... Fills the Only Fools and Horses slot seemlesly.

You have made this episode wide when it shouldn't be.

The old mother who we never see is indeed a running gag with Mr Swainey 🙂 I'm not a big fan of this episode. The next two are good - probably the best so far up to that point. By series 3 onwards, it gets really good 😁

Psycho is definitely worth a watch if you've never seen it :)
