I've been waiting for THIS Wednesday all my life.

Well the mayor in this episode is played by controversial comedian Roy Chubby Brown. His actual real name is...Royston Vasey!

This episode has one of my all time favourite lines from a sitcom - "spraying your belly with sticky white love piss". The line is so gross and is delivered with such passion. It is on point lol

Such amazing actors. They're just so believable in every charecter they play. The unease they create is incredible...truly unique! Love it!!

It really is! You just forget who is who sometimes that they do it so well... Extraordinary. So many characters too, it's such a great series and cast :D

Another great episode and reaction! :-) "Spraying your belly with sticky white love piss" is such a viscerally awful, all-too-vivid line of dialogue - haha - and all the better for it I think. This show really did test and push the boundaries and I love how dark and unsavoury it has wont to be! Pop is a horribly creepy, essentially evil character and Steve Pemberton plays him worryingly well! Haha! I notice you said "whoever plays him does a good job" Josh so I thought I'd clarify some examples of who plays who as per the below. It's probably and possibly fairly obvious at times but this is one of the fantastic things about this show - unlike Matt Lucas and David Walliams whose make up and characterisations are a bit more..... hmmmm.....facile? Almost pantomime at times.... I would say the make up and characterisations here are far more complex. Steve Pemberton plays: Tubbs, Pauline, Harvey Denton, Mike, Maurice, Pop, the guy running the orange juice auditions, Herr Lipp, Charlie and others. Mark Gatiss plays: David (before he turned into the "monster" in Tubbs and Edward's attic, Mickey, Val, Brian, Hilary Briss (butcher), Les McQueen, Iris (with all the kids running around) and others... Reece Shearsmith plays: Edward, Ross, Benjamin, Geoff, Mrs Levinson, Papa Lazarou, Bernice (the vicar), Stella and others... I find Mark plays the slightly more sympathetic characters (Hilary Briss one of the exceptions) here. Steve plays all sorts of weird and not so wonderful characters, kind of awful in an ugly, overbearing way, and Reece plays either the grisly, evil psychopaths or the (if I'm being honest) more convincing female characters in that he really does pass for a "realistic" woman and worryingly reminds me of people I've met in my life (Stella and Mrs Levinson especially!). I think all three are remarkable though- it isn't just dressing up and being funny, they actually *act* - the way the sketches form an ongoing narrative helps but these are fully-formed characters and I think only really the first couple of episodes of series 1 can be truly classed as a straight "sketch show". It's all ultimately so much more!

I envy anyone who's seeing LOG for the first time and I recommend that they watch it at least once more when it's over. It gets better everytime. You'll see things you never saw before. It's scandalous. (Most of the women in it are men, taking our jobs. I'm not actually a woman meself, but I had a ride in Barbara's taxi, if you know what I mean. It's not the point, it's the principle.)

'Pop' is Steve Pemberton, who does 'Tubbs', 'Pauline', Benjamin's uncle (forgot his name) and others. He's amazing, well, all three of them are. It doesn't get more original than this.

What's a happen when you a snap your a crackle? IT'S A POPS! Heh heh heh smiley face. You are very beautiful. My son will LOVE you. You can have babies and they will take over the shop.

Makes my Thursday mornings watching this. Keep up the good work !

Funny how Josh noticed the bush before anyone in the audience! You can tell where his eyes were drawn to ;)

The lads said that was based on a real woman one of them had encountered in a shop. She burst in through the shop's door and shouted "EXCUDE BEEF! HAS ANYBODY GOT ANY BOTTLE O ORANANGE JUIIICCEEEE?!" and then immediately walked out again. Also, Tubbs was based on a real woman in a local shop which a couple of the lads visited and she was terrified of these young non-local men entering her shop and she kept saying things like "I have a Husband upstairs, you know!". Oh, and Harvey Dent (Benjamin's Uncle) is based on co-writer Jeremy Dyson's relative. He had gone to spend the weekend at their residence and was told to make himself at home. He went out for the evening to a pub and came back and went to bed. He was awoken early morning to the furious sound of his Uncle shouting "WHO DOUBLE LOCKED THIS FRONT DOOR?!?!".

"But why!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'll be saying that for days.

The guy that plays Pop is the guy that plays: Pauline, Harvey Denton (the toad guy), Tubbs, Herr Lipp, Charlie etc. And one of the 4 co-creators and writers - Steve Pemberton.

The special mark she’s talking about is a ‘kitemark’, it’s on lots of things to denote it’s been certified as safe https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitemark There’s no legal equivalent in the US I understand
