Jade Nepia

what happened to lifes too short, in shadows and mighty boosh?

Jack Nicholas

What happened to what we do in the shadows? Very glad OFITG is doing well, though.

AfterWorkReactions

This is a long show poll, shows with 26 episodes or fewer are on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. 27 Episodes or more are Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday.

Anonymous

Makes me very sad to inform you Josh that the family of John Challis reported that he has passed away today- R.I.P Boycie ☹ so glad you managed to enjoy the entire run of OFAH during the time that he was still with us.

Josh

Very sad I didn't even know he had cancer. RIP

Josh

I'm going to cast my votes this time for Men Behaving Badly and Still Game. I recently rewatched both and I enjoyed them. Many people seem to say Men Behaving Badly hasn't aged well which makes me wonder if I'm in a minority opinion for still enjoying it. Still Game is a great Scottish comedy and has some touching moments that manage to walk the line between comedy and tragedy not too dissimilar to only fools. I also put in a third vote for Not Going Out, it's a fun show I think you'd enjoy.

AfterWorkReactions

This is a long show poll, shows with 26 episodes or fewer are on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. 27 Episodes or more are Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday.

Joe S

I was about to suggest Brassic again, but that’s only 12 episodes. Peaky Blinders has over 30 eps, could that be added? Or is it just comedies? Thanks

A

Continue the Friday sitcom God tier with One Foot In The Grave 💪🏻

Anonymous

Anyone voting for My Family needs their head testing!

Anonymous

Inside no. 9 is legendary 👍🏻

Anonymous

Hopefully Brentford's biggest pirate radio station makes an appearance.

L M

where's "Skins"? @josh, also can we do like 1 or 2 seasons/series of a show and watch them in chunks? If you do them in entirety, some shows might not be reacted to for years. This is good for your Patreon longevity, but not necessarily for patron satisfaction or retention. I think chunking them would be a good compromise! my 2c anyway.

Anonymous

Has Mrs Browns Boys ever been requested? I'm stunned that it never gets mentioned.

Anonymous

"My Family" and its 120 episodes of bland mediocrity can bugger off. Josh would be stuck with it for over 2 years. There are far more compelling, inventive and enticing shows for Josh to discover before we have to drudge through that.

Darren Swinbank

Shame porridge isn't on this list, best comedy after Only Fools in my opinion

Teddy Alison

Where’s Porridge. I’m sure it would win

Anonymous

Porridge should definitely be in the list!

Anonymous

Would like to see "Would I lie to you" added to the list.

Manly Stump

This poll is for longer running shows, there were only 21 episodes of Porridge

Anonymous

One foot in the grave is the only show IMO that could even come close to filling the footsteps OFAH will leave behind.

Anonymous

hey, josh will you be continuing with the only fools documentary series for the next few Fridays??

Manly Stump

This poll is for longer running shows, there were only 21 episodes of Porridge

Anonymous

Would be fitting that green grass won after the passing of John but I'm still going to vote for one foot in the grave as that's the best out of them by a country mile.

Anonymous

Like last time I'm rooting for One Foot In The Grave.

Anonymous

Porridge and Open All Hours should be on this list.

BelladonnicHazeyJaneII

Hope it's One Foot In The Grave. I wasn't keen on it as a kid, thought it was just an 'old person comedy'. But after seeing it as an adult I realise how well written and dark it is as well as funny. It would be a good programme to replace Only Fools on Friday evenings I reckon. Was hoping Porridge would have been an option as well but maybe that'll get chance to replace Red Dwarf when the time comes :)

Anonymous

This poll is for shows with more than 26 episodes. They'll probably be on the poll when LOG, Royle Family & Gavin & Stacey are done.

Sam Reeves

I was expecting Taskmaster to appear on the long show poll, or is that being voted for on series by series basis? (I think I saw that mentioned a while ago)

Anonymous

Those at work, and even some family members have referred to me as “Victor Melldrew” on several occasions… I’m 27 years old, does that give any indication as to my personality at all?? “I don’t believe it!!”

Keith Pratt

Porridge only has 21 episodes, so it'll be on the poll for shorter shows next time it comes around.

Anonymous

I think Goodnight Sweetheart and Misfits with their blend of comedy and sci-fi elements would be good choices.

Lee Williams

I'd like to request the UK version of Shameless for a long series. I always loved watching that show.

slashdisco

Really really needs to be One Foot in the Grave's moment to shine! So many of us have been going on about it for the past year, waiting for our time! It's the best choice as it's most in keeping with OFAH. Good to keep a mix of different sitcom styles and eras on the channel.

Anonymous

Still game 100% one of the funniest British sitcoms ever

Ash Jeffries

There are some fantastic shows on this list and I have put my vote in for a few of them but my top pick is quite final and resounding: ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE!!!! :-D

Steve Read

To be honest, this is actually a fairly decent list. I was hoping something would keep me subscribed here after OFAH. There's some fairly terrible stuff winning the shorter polls lol. Anything holding the majority here, currently, is fantastic.

Steve Read

Yeah, Shameless is great. Was tempted to rewatch it all again soon.

Andrew

JONATHAN CREEK snubbed again 😢😭 a beloved UK classic and it can't even make it on to a poll even RIP

Anonymous

Ooh One Foot In The Grave doing well. It’s a pretty bizarre show but I am rather fond of it!

Anonymous

I know it will take a while but the day I here Josh say “Keep it Kurupt the rest are irellivent” will be a good one for me 😂

PoPaDoMZz

🤞 Misfits or Fresh Meat

Gary Tamblyn

I don’t know how the age group of Patreon’s is divided, but it may be good to have one day a week devoted to an older show. It may not get the most votes because I expect most here are born in the 1990s+, but not having some form of proportional representation may mean a chunk of viewers lose interest now that OFAH has finished.

jack

I still love watching Men Behaving Badly (apart from series 1 which i always avoid)

Scott

Men behaving badly all the way

Anonymous

I'd like to see young Joshua react to episodes of things like Mrs Brown's Boys, Love Thy Neighbour and Mind your Language. I don't think there is a need for him to commit to whole series of these because it's the concept that he would be reacting to rather than the storyline. Maybe there could be a day a week where he reacts to one off things.

SP

I feel quite conflicted over Keeping Up Appearances, Hyacinth is a great character but it is the same joke over and over and over again. Hope One Foot in the Grave wins.

Anonymous

I recently just re-watched all of One Foot In The Grave, and it reminded me of what a skillful show it is, much like Only Fools and Horses, written by an absolute genius which will make you laugh and cry!

Anonymous

Ghosts, a bbc sitcom, would be great to see on polls. As of right now there are 3 seasons and 19 episodes, with possibly more in the future.

Gary Tamblyn

Goodnight sweetheart has a bit of a story arc that Josh likes commenting about, whereas some other shows are just stand alone episodes. So that may work well. Plus it’s got Nicholas Lyndhurst in it.

Gary Tamblyn

Oh god, can you imagine. And poor Josh would feel duty bound to stick with it for 2 years. The actors were good in that show, the BBC just tried a US style writing room approach, and I think they soon realised the UK just doesn’t have the depth of writing talent to carry a ‘production line comedy’ off. Or more likely the pay didn’t attract the right calibre of writers.

Anonymous

Very much hope One Foot.. wins. There's only Red Dwarf at the moment that I look at re: reactions now OFAH has finished, so if OF wins, I'll be happy :)

Anonymous

Yes, Renwick is a brilliant writer of pathos. The ending of "Who Will Buy?" is just devastating.

Raindog

Taskmaster! Put it back on the long list it would win easily!

Sean O'Donnell

I didn't realise there were so many episode of the Britas empire. Thought there were only 2 seasons tops.

Anonymous

C'mon One Foot In The Grave you can do it, another mastery writing of comedy like Only fools..... to slot into Friday evenings nicely. One can only hope.

Anonymous

Some sad news patreons you may already know John Challis (Boycie) Has Passed away r.i.p

Anonymous

You have to do the Brittas Empire Josh.

Robin Brown

Shame that Coupling isn't doing so well. Definitely deserves better

Danny

With Dads Army it might be better to skip the first 2 series, as they are black and white and have a few missing episodes. Instead start with the 70's movie which was designed to recap the setup for television stations overseas no longer airing B/W programming. Then continue from series 3. You can always watch the first two series after you're done with the rest.

Austin Stratton

Yes Inside No.9 is great.. It's doing well so fingers crossed!

Anonymous

I know it's not up on there but 'The detectives' pretty mu ch our version of police squad ( with Jasper carrot, Robert Powell and the late great George Sewell ) was brilliant. Only 3 series and one special at the end. Really underrated.

Ash Jeffries

One Foot in the Grave is my top pick but Inside No. 9 is my second favourite on this list, so I'm glad to see they're no. 1 and 2 respectively! 🙏

Anonymous

Yes! Love that show. (But it's 5 series and 2 specials.)

Spooony

It's unfortunate that another broad comedy like OFITG is winning, but I guess that makes sense coming off OFAH. Each to their own I guess, I just don't get it.

Ash Jeffries

If you consider OFITG to be broad, I can only guess that you've never seen it or have seen very, very little of it. It is often dark, occasionally surreal, full of philosophy and pathos, meticulously plotted, and the dialogue is almost consistently razor-sharp and full of dry wit. The age of the protagonists gives off an inaccurate idea of the show's content. Last of the Summer Wine is broad; OFITG couldn't be further from it.

Alexander Bond

I honestly don't care of any of these too much. I gave a vote for Dad's Army, Allo Allo and OFITG for old times sake. Shows I might watch f they happen to be on telly, but I don't seek them out.

Alexander Bond

Josh, you need to start adding many of the long-running American comedy shows. Honestly, there's not many good long-running shows left from the UK and the few that are are ancient. I'd much rather watch Curb than any of these.

Anonymous

The subscribers suggest the shows. You suggest what you want to see and we'll see how the votes go, rather than trying to subvert things because it's not going how you like.

Jason

Disappointed that Jonathan Creek isn't on! Would be nice to have a non-comedy show in the lineup

Anonymous

Can only hope out of this list its One Foot In the Grave. Nothing will compare to Only Fools in that Friday slot... but, vicar of dibley in the running?! Please god no!!!

Anonymous

I also think the thick of it would be a SENSATIONAL watch along. Not a huge number of episodes but.. the smartest written show in recent years for sure

Anonymous

Would love to see some non-UK shows on here to be honest, but I guess I'm in the minority.

Jade Nepia

I havnt heard of most of these

slashdisco

Haha I'll have that phone number etched into my memory forever, with how many times Victor says it.

Anonymous

I cannot wait for you to watch Plebs and People just do nothing in the future (they won't win this poll) they are truely some of my favourites shows and have watched them countless times. I know you'll love them. I'm not sure if it's ever been mentioned for one of these long show polls but maybe It's always sunny in philadelphia? I know it's not British but it's a diamond of a show and dark comedy at its best. It's 14 seasons now and there is literally like 2 meh episodes out of the whole lot. Truly amazing writing and acting.

Anonymous

How old are you guys out of interest and what shows in particular got you to sign up and pay money for this page? I'm in my late 20's and joined the patreon about a year ago after watching and enjoying all the Karl Pilkington stuff Josh did on YouTube which really helped cheer me up during the most depressing time in my life. When this page started it had things like The Office and Peep Show which I would consider pretty edgy, modern and intelligent shows and they all sort of fit together (in my head at least). Following on from those I'd expect to see things like Spaced and Dark Place , The Thick Of It, People Just Do nothing as some examples. Instead of that we've got things like The Vicar Of Dibley and One Foot In The Grave getting loads of votes, even my gran finds these a bit tame and personally they seem so dated and removed compared to the stuff that used to be on here I just wondered why that was? Things like My Family with 120 episodes which would take up a spot for nearly 2 years getting loads of votes, it's so bland and safe I don't get why people would find 120 reactions to those worthwhile. Sorry for this mess of a post I've had a drink I'm really not a snob it just fascinates me.

Ash Jeffries

It's a democratic system and people vote for what they like. I am 37 and joined a year or so ago and I like a lot of the shows you like too but I accept that some shows which do nothing for me will be liked by other people and that's just the way it pans out. 😎 I joined from watching Josh's reactions on YouTube and it was Only Fools and Horses, Fawlty Towers, The Office, Extras and so on that kept me here. Some of the shows here haven't been my cup of tea but for a few quid a month, I feel my batting average isn't bad and I will definitely be sticking around. I completely agree with your comments about My Family and I too find it anodyne and felt it went on almost interminably. It wasn't very British apart from anything else (not what's wrong with it and I like some American shows but I am here for quintessentially British stuff). By this, I am referring to the staff of writers, the very artificially lit American sitcom style sets, and it was created by Fred Barron, who is American. The aesthetic didn't scream British. Once again I have to defend One Foot in the Grave. It isn't avant-garde in the same way The Office was, or some edgy Channel 4 outing. But to suggest it is "tame" suggests you've seen barely any of it, and it's certainly no more dated than it has wont to be given it started in 1990. It isn't a *modern* show, it isn't full of young characters, and it's fairly traditional in some respects (as OFAH was), but it's far more incisive, intelligent, and dark than the casual viewer or those who literally only know the show for "I don't believe it!" might give it credit for. David Renwick's scripts are brimming with imagination and anything but tame or pedestrian. One Foot in the Grave's only flaw is that it isn't "cool". It's a 90s' sitcom where the two leads are a 60-something married couple and those two characteristics alone could lead to anodyne, bland content. Anyone who has seen more than three episodes knows that it is anything but any of these things. Most importantly, over 200 people clearly hold it in very high esteem and they are showing their appreciation accordingly. If it wins, it'll win because it's earned it. 🙏

Daniel

I am 31, and I personally prefer older comedies, I believe that they are far better than the majority of comedies from the last couple of decades.

Anonymous

I am 39, I prefer the older ones but will give anything a try apart from James Corden as he is a cunt.

Anonymous

I feel each Patreon member should get one vote, and we can’t see what else has been voted for, then it will be a true democracy and I think a different result

Josip Buretic

The only show that I know from this list is Allo Allo it was very popular in Croatia but other than that I don't know any other show so I hope you all will pick a good show 😁

Anonymous

Struggled on this list, as most of it is not worth reacting to. I only voted Allo Allo as I liked it at the time even though it is the same jokes over and over and over again. Hope Toast of London ends up on the list again.

Richard M

You'll love One Foot in the Grave, it's a superbly crafted series.

Mark McKeown

Happy to see Inside no9 do so well, here’s hoping it’s next

Anonymous

Still Game is a brilliant Scottish comedy set in Glasgow. It would absolutely be up there with the best UK sitcoms if it had been broacast outside of BBC Scotland initially. Real shame more people won't vote for it cuz they don't know about it but it's well worth a watch wherever you're from and it's all on BBC iplayer I believe! :)

Jon

100% Fresh Meat next 😆

Anonymous

Hoping for Keeping Up Appearances 😀

𝙶𝚊𝚛𝚢 𝙼𝚘𝚛𝚐𝚊𝚗

Please consider Jeeves and Wooster, a sitcom that ran for 4 seasons, starring Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie. Such a classic adaptation of the books, scrumptiously brought to life by these two titans of comedy.
