Im sure you will but please do watch the specials when you get there, the Christmas ones were always good but it's great to see how the characters grow especially after the main 3 seasons!

I was halfway through watching this when something struck me... It's written by Caroline Ahearn, Craig Cash & 1 (Denise & Dave and a professional script editor) Just like Gavin & Stacey, written by Ruth Jones and James Cordon & 1, aka Ness and Smithy and a professional script editor. They NEVER give themselves the best lines, do they?

I groaned when this came up on the poll, but I've watched the last two episodes and been impressed. Probably got this one wrong. It's such a ballsy sitcom, the amount of silences and shots of people doing nothing...I love that they trust the audience to slide into the same mindspace as the characters and just drift along downstream with the episode. There's a scene in the last series of Twin Peaks where someone just sweeps a floor in a bar...for four minutes straight. The Royle Family's got some of that in it.

Ah, do you think so? Personally I think Nessa has some of the best lines. Jim Royle is DEFINITELY my funniest in The Royle Family. Have you seen Rovers? It’s written by David Earl and Joe Wilkinson, but their acting parts are quite minimal in it compared with Craig Cash’s character, who is EXACTLY like Dave!!!!!
