Excellent start to Season 6 Kryten's upgrade looks great. I loved Rimmer's activation scene, his character traits being uploaded were hilarious. It was such a great idea to have the season start with them attempting to track down the Red Dwarf.

Thanks for watching folks !!! Hopefully, you all are happy, safe, and healthy !!

As always I would love to read your comments below

Hey Josh hope you’re feeling better mate…you sound better anyway 🙂. The Sinclair ZX81 was actually pretty good back in it’s day (1981) for a cheap-ish home computer…it wasn’t that reliable but home computers generally weren’t back then. It was also referenced by Holly back in S2 E4 (Stasis Leak) after Lister discovered Kochanski was already married: “I was in love once, a Sinclair ZX81. People said ‘No Holly, she’s not for you. She’s cheap, stupid and she wouldn’t load’ well not for me anyway” 😂. Maybe I’m seeing it through rose tinted specs but I don’t remember it being that bad…the later ZX Spectrum 48k was much better though! Anyway yes great start and you can’t go wrong with S6…every episode is good, so enjoy!

I had a Sinclair ZX81 back in 1982. I think it cost £60. Small computer with a rubbish membrane keyboard, but it was amazing in its day. I remember I spent weeks entering hundreds of hexadecimal numbers from monthly instalments of a computer magazine. It was supposed to be Chess in 1K (1024 bytes) but I must have got something wrong, because it never worked 😃

Excellent start to Series 6. Looks like you enjoyed it. This show seems to get better with every series, it’s a bit worrying to see on Wikipedia that Series 7 was filmed 4 years after series 6 and with only one of the two writers. I hope this series / season isn’t the last of the great episodes.

This is a good start to the sixth series, there are some cracking episodes in it - my favourite episode, Legion, will be up next so I won't put any spoilers in. Cat's character is developed a bit more in this series so that he does become a bit more useful to the crew - his piloting skills in this episode but he does remain as dorky as ever.

It depends on who you listen to. A lot of people will tell you series 7 is awful. It's not, I enjoyed it just as much as the previous six. A lot of criticism comes from people who don't like change, as there are cast changes. I would say go into it with an open mind and enjoy it for what it is.

The making of this series is so good.

Cats reflexes have been shown a couple times, like when Lister threw a snowball at him and he caught it just to throw it back again. Jenny Agutter who played Krytens creator is probably the shows biggest actor yet. American Werewolf in London, Logans Run and Captain America Winter Soldier. They were also going to have Brian May, the lead Guitarist of the band "Queen" play Listers guitar riff, but he was unavailable, his wife played the female soldier though.

ALW

Only bad part about this episode is that it has nowhere near enough content of Jenny Agutter in those thigh high heeled boots.

The ZX81 was my 1st computer, it has a whopping 1k memory, it had only black and white pixels, it had a fast mode, that made the screen fuzzy. It had a 16k expansion pack, it had a waterproof keyboard, It didn't have many games, which was why I soon bought the 48k spectrum. and it did crash quite often, especially if you nudged it or enabled fast mode. No it wasn't "actually pretty good" when I had it, but so many other decent home computers were available at that point.

Yes they had Phil Manzanera from Roxy Music play guitar behind Craig Charles instead.

Tony Smyth

Jenny Agutter??? Isn't she the one that whenever she appears in a movie all of her clothes fall off? The one with the extraordinarily posh English accent? She's my favourite actress. Walkabout is my favourite movie.

Hey Josh have you seen Forrest Gump? That and Interstellar are my 2 favourite films of all time. Would be cool if they were both on future votes.

Saul

You should watch a third movie at some point. (just kidding)

This is the last true Red Dwarf series for me. It always felt that Rob Grant was the most adept at the comedy lines, while Naylor was the Sci Fi ideas guy. So when Series 7 onwards rolled around without Grant, the Inventiveness of the episodes continued, but the jokes felt a bit flat or just emulated what came before. It kind of makes me sad that it never got that spark back.

Z is for Zed

Nobody's going to argue that 7 went off a cliff (and 8 somehow found a way to be worse), but some of the Dave serieses got quite close to recapturing the magic. Obviously they didn't get close to 6, but how could they?

Ive re watched season 7 and 8 about 2 years ago after thinking myself it had slipped slightly at the time , but on re watching I think its just as funny and good as season 6 ,, some amazing moments to come and they are still making it.

I binge watch all 12 series at least once a month, there are highs and lows in every series. For me the highs outweigh the lows every time. I don't know what people have against series 7 to 9.

How much better is the quality of this show now compared to the first 2 seasons that had basic reusable sets and limited fx

Season VI is by far and away the best season. Looking forward to it.
