This was a great wrap-up to the end of season 5. Cat's character Dwayne Dibley was my favorite in this episode. Whenever Cat said Dwayne Dibley it cracked me up. I wonder if there was a real Dwayne Dibley watching this episode going WTF is this shit lmao. Holly saved their butt's big time in this one. Overall this was a great episode, I covered most of what I wanted to cover at the end. I hope everyone is having a fantastic day.

When Lister first finds the ink Kryten says it's most likely a hallucinogenic, then when they're decompressing he says "it's a poison, a venom, possibly even an hallucinogenic", so he actually says it twice! Kinda glad you missed it though, more entertaining when you finally work out what's going on!

Made 8 years before the Matrix! told you this show has great sci fi elements. It was around the time this series ended that they were making the American version of Red Dwarf and how the British show was at risk as Robert Lewellyn who plays Kryten was to replay the role in the states. here's a documentary with the cast that you might find interesting https://youtu.be/PCmBRAX_V6o Not sure if you watch the Harry Potter films but the guy that works at the game complex played Wormtail, who pretended to be Rons pet rat.

Fantastic episode. I love how Red Dwarf can go from intriguing dramatic sci-fi to comedy in a heartbeat. The opening scene where they're trying to figure out what happened to the crew and then Lister comes out with, "why would a haddock kill itself? ...why am I even asking that question?" Hahah

One of my favourite episodes, particularly with the introduction of Duane Dibley.. Don't worry Josh this episode catches most people out with the 'what the hell is going on?' feeling. Cat is the best, going from cool to dork but I also liked Rimmer's alter ego because I could never see how they could ever lower his character any more than it was. But they succeeded.

So Josh you finally met DD. Of course you have to remember that this episode closes season 5, when we first watched this we didn’t know if it was going to be the last ever episode, so if you didnt know there were more, you may have been fooled into thinking this is how they wrap it up

In the book 'Better Than Life' the game actually makes you forget you are in a game and actively tries to stop you ever leaving. The books are even better than the episodes and generally go way deeper into the sci-fi.

Great episode! Cant wait for Season 6. I think that will be your Favourite. In this episode, did you notice that the guy that brought them out of the "game" was the guy that plays the male version of Holly? Also yes, Kryten mentions it's 'hallucinogenic' when they first find the ink.

First time commenting, loving your videos! Yes, when this episode aired in 1992 as last in the series a lot of people including myself assumed this was the last one ever and the whole show was indeed an AI game... until the last five minutes of course. At this point I decided to join the Red Dwarf fan club, catch up on all the episodes on VHS, get t shirts and a mister Flibble puppet. It was a long 18 month wait for series 6 which was hyped up massively. Every episode of series 6 felt like a special event so I’m glad to be joining you at this point!

This was a great episode. I remember watching it for the first time and not knowing if season 5 was going to be the last series. I remember being disappointed, thinking they were going to end it by saying it had all been a simulation. I'm glad they didn't and there is so much more good to come in next series.
