I'm 6' 2" and my ex was 4' 10". She wasn't a dwarf or anything of the sort, she was just very short, so i've heard all of the jokes that Max had (plus more) and been through the same thing with the exception of me defending her rather than joining in with the piss-taking. The next episode is arguably my favourite one of the series.

Know where you're coming from, mate. One of my best buds at school was a midget - don't know his exact height. Both of us called Joe, so Big Joe and Little Joe became our nicknames. After a while you generally forget about the height and wonder why people are looking at you when you're out and about. Lots of sly little digs on a daily basis, bloody tough life to hear all that

Maybe gonna be an unpopular opinion, but jail is perhaps exactly where these two belong. 🤣 I can't say I'm finding this show as enjoyable as the other Peter shows I've seen. Still a bit interested to see where it goes tho.

If you look at a lot of iconic British iconic TV comedy shows we all rave about, a lot of them are well below par in the first season and many of them much worse than this... ... Sometimes it takes a little bit of time to build characters, storylines and to get into a groove. Blackadder was pretty awful in the first season and Men Behaving Badly, probably my all time fave was dire in the first season until it became truly awesome! This show could have been a very good show in my opinion if it carried on with some added polishing but we'll never know. I like it... It's nowhere perfect but it's just a bit of fun escapism with some better episodes to come.

That's a very fair comment David. But the comparison being made here is against other Peter shows, not against all TV comedies in general. Max and Paddy are established characters from a previous 2 series show. So the par level is being measured by the standard he had set previously and that he went on to produce. It's not trash but just doesn't personally click as well with me as the other shows.

Is next week the one where “Cliff Richard” appears ? If you don’t know who he is, the joke will fall flat (in fairness, it doesn’t do much better if you do 😃). Basically he is (was in his day) a famous UK singer. Admired now by women in their 70’s and 80’s. known for having strong christian values. Plays a lot of tennis, probably never had a parking ticket. But basically he’s the last person you’d expect to see in prison. He’d see himself as the UK version of Elvis, whereas he’s probably more the UK equivalent of US singer Donny Osmond, if that helps.
