Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!    Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!!

Dude when listers underwear started shrinking I cracked up . That scene was so funny watching Lister freak out while Kryten tries to remove his shrinking underwear. When Rimmer walked in that was the icing on the cakes lol. This episode was funny all the way through from the meal served on and with medical equipment to the emotion extraction all hilarious. The sets look so much better as well. I thought Listers fearless alien hunting get up would make for some pretty cool cosplay and I couldn't find any cosplay for Lister . I did find cool toy I plan on tracking down and a people cosplaying as Rimmer in this episode . Excellent episode it's going on the list of favorites !! Also I could not find anything on what real person if anyone Rimmer may have been emulating after losing his anger. He may have not been emulating anyone just seems like there was more to the joke that I was missing .

Thanks for watching folks !!! Hopefully, you all are happy, safe, and healthy !!

Yeah I’ve seen people cosplaying that Rimmer at London Comic Con. Rimmer wasn’t supposed to be anyone in particular, just an archetype

This episode is hilarious. The abbreviation cracks me up every time.

Happiest Aku

This is one of the best episodes this season. Also just so you know, the second Polymorph ended up hiding in Lister's clean underpants draw where it died of old age.

Thanks for the upload Josh. This is a great episode, kryten removing the shorts is brilliant. I’d love to know who is your favorite character is so far?

Kieran B

Coincidentally some of the VFX guys that worked on Alien worked on Red Dwarf

Manly Stump

Apparently during the scene where Lister's underpants were shrinking, the audience was laughing so loudly they couldn't hear each other say their lines!

Rich Moyse

Brilliant episode, Are you gonna do a mortal kombat movie trailer reaction josh 😊🙏🏻

It’s true. The cast talk about it in the commentary track.

David Lyons

The Osmonds were basically the opposite of the Jackson 5 in the 70s (both family groups but sang easy listening and ballads as opposed to motown and funk).

David Lyons

Haha I just knew someone would comment this! (It's a retcon/epilogue they added to the remastered version of this episode years later.)

Mark Carr

I reckon Rimmer got so much time just because he did the peacenik stereotype so well. Love it when Red Dwarf does slightly creepier (but still funny) episodes. Also the osmonds were an American band, a family with huge toothy grins. They were big in the UK in the 70s I think.

Good episode, glad you're getting into RD more as it goes on :) love when his boxers are shrinking and the look on Rimmer's face and saying he's not totally shocked lol.

This is the part of the show everyone was hoping you'd get to as the show takes on a more adventurous vibe from now on. Visiting different planets, time periods and villains, plus it's just more colourful. If i remember correctly this episode had some great outtakes (smeg ups they're called) to do the effect of the Polymorph sucking their forehead, a crew member had to smack the actors with the tube hard enough so it would stick in place, unless it didn't which meant they had to smack them again in another take.

Matthew Seaward

Great episode. I'm really glad you're enjoying RD more. This is an odd episode for me. I've had RD saved on my computer for over a decade and watched them on repeat for all of that time. It was literally only a few months back when I checked on Netflix and found I was missing this episode. So, whilst I have seen it on TV before, it's one I had forgotten so almost a new episode for me!

I couldn't wait for you to watch this! It's one of my favourites since I watched it the first time when it was first on all those years ago I never get tired of watching. You will enjoy so many more episodes!.. Glad you enjoyed it.

Tom Tucker

This is one of those episodes that really highlights how short the episodes are. You could have easily filled an hour long episode with this story.

Brilliant episode...i was so looking forward to this one!

They have annual red dwarf convention called dimension jump where lots of people dress up as the cast

Steve King

Rimmer, isn't impersonating anyone famous (he's actually an excellent impressionist and worked on the original Spitting Image but I digress), even though he unfortunately looks like a young Rolf Harris in that scene (I say unfortunately as Harris was convicted a few years ago for kiddie-fiddling). He's just playing a hippy/protester trope very well...I can only guess a British audience found it funnier because our hippies were less the American stereotype of a slow-talking stoner (like Cheech and Chong) and more the overly-ideal pacifist who thinks everything can be solved by love and tolerance (Like John Lennon).

Kieran B

That’s a good description, the white Mormon Jackson 5

So glad the episode didn't disappoint. It was the episode that hooked me on Red Dwarf way back in the 80s, and is still one of my favourite episodes today.

Jay

I don't think there's a weak episode from Series 3 is there?

Austin Stratton

Rimmr was acting like ANY UK politician.. it was ripping into the fact that they never want to fight, but that a 'heavy leaflet campaign' is more than enough barbarianism.

Mike Doel

I echo everyone’s comments here, the good thing is, each series stoops up in hilarity. You have so many great episodes to watch, I’m not going to spoil anything but we are on series 12 now I think and the reason it is still going is because it just gets better. YOu have such great episodes to watch,

I remember this was THE episode that had all the kids in my middle school talking about nothing but Red Dwarf for months - highlight of S3 for me. You wondered about the creature being able to touch Rimmer, suck emotions out of Kryten etc - I'm sure other people have commented on previous vids, but the entirety of Red Dwarf is riddled with plot holes, inconsistencies and retcons. They even poke fun at this in their Smeg Ups (bloopers) videos. I think the idea was to not let that stuff get in the way of the jokes or interesting episode ideas, but I get the feeling it's not bothering you that much anyway. Looking forward to the next few months with you guys!

Thought I recognised her voice and it turns out the 'woman' alien creature was Francis Barber, who was Moss's sexy older woman therapist in one episode of The It Crowd.

BigChanChan

More a left-wing politician I would say. It reminded me of the liberal do-gooder, CND type supporters of the 60's to the 80's!

AfterWorkReactions

Ahh excellent thanks for much for taking the time to explain bud .That makes sense I really appreciate it .

AfterWorkReactions

Thanks for the insight bud I really appreciate it .Yeah it doesn't bother me , it really is part of the charm . I have been a part of the Trekkie community for most of my life and I can honestly say Red Dwarfs is a like a breath of fresh air. Not all Trekkies but a lot can be augmentative and take the fun out of being a part of the community . Hell I find myself being that way at time when it comes to Star trek. But I like how everyone in the Red Dawrf community feels lot more laid back . Similar to the people I have met in the Warhammer community.

AfterWorkReactions

Really that's so awesome , is all of the information in the commentary on the DVD box sets ?? I have been thinking about picking them up .

AfterWorkReactions

Dude I loved that part it cracked me up so much lol. So far I would have to say Lister . His best friend is a cat , he just kind of flows through life and in most cases he doesn't over think things and he rebuilt an Kryten which shows he's a good with tech .

Mike Doel

Hahhh yeah ur right Jeremy

Ash Jeffries

The step up in quality on so many levels is evident from series 3 and this is one of my favourite episodes. Such a fun story and you're right, Josh, very Hallowe'en Special-like. This is my favourite line, genuinely laugh out loud funny. RIMMER: And I think it comes down to a choice between "The League Against Salivating Monsters," or - and this is my personal preference - "The Committee for the Liberation and Integration of Terrifying Organisms and their Rehabilitation Into Society." Erm, one drawback with that - the abbreviation is C.L.I.T.O.R.I.S. :-D

Mick Mills

My memory must be playing tricks on me. I thought this episode was the first appearance of Dwayne Dibley. So great to watch again with an Americans perspective.

Gary S

I remember watching this episode when I was a young schoolboy. It was always on at 9pm on a Monday night and I would watch it alone in my bedroom before going to sleep. I was so scared of this episode that I couldn’t get to sleep. It’s crazy to watch it today as a proper bloke with hair “down there” and everything.
