This was a really wacky episode and I loved every second of it. They must have had so much fun making this episode. When he said Cat was in the bushes I paused for a second thinking wait no lol. How is this going to work, do you walk up to a puddle of poo and pee and it just sucks itself back into you? When he popped up I thought of course that's how it works lmao. While watching people eat I don't know why I didn't think poping must be a nightmare because I was thinking sex must be super weird lol. Great start to season 3 this was a really fun and silly episode.

Can't say I'm a fan of this one, will give it a miss. Next week may well be my favourite episode, though. 🙂

the way Norman Lovett (Hollie) left the show was petty. Basically they would all get together for rehearsals before filming each episode, but Norman didn't like the long travel to just sit on a stool and read his lines and thought he didn't need to be there. The writers explained that with him there they can try out what works and what doesn't, and if he's choosing to not show up then he's not going to get his full wage as its in his contract to show up. He stated they couldn't do that, the writers disagreed so he said he'd rather not do any of it it then. He even got angry about Hattie Hayridge (new Hollie) because he thought she was stealing his act.

Backwards is a fun episode with some, at the time, current scientific theory as well. Episode 3 is one of the best ones. hsoJ eno doog a evaH.

In the making of this series they explain the stuff as nonsense so they don't have to have kids in this series lol. Also Holly was changed due to a falling out with the original guy.

You have now entered the golden era of Red Dwarf. Anyone who tells you Red Dwarf is amazing is likely referring to series 3-6. Series 7 is still pretty good in my opinion but 8 is pretty bad. 9/10 aren't great but picks back up in 11 and the latest feature length episide.

Yeah, Norman Lovett's a bit of a dick. In all of the documentaries about the show, that definitely comes across. Not so much of a dick that I wouldn't want to meet him, but enough where I wouldn't want to work with him.

Season three, yeah! But speaking of sex on htraE, didn't they describe just that in the Backwards book? Some of the scenes were so trippy and it's been so many years that the whole book series almost feels like a fever dream.

It's quite an original idea and it's when RD gets going as a show - but bloody hell this episode is an absolute nightmare logically speaking :) - I don't think it makes sense at any point. Set aside all the basic physics that it obliterates, just the behaviour of people in backwards world makes no sense. The backwards world would experience time going forward, no differently from us. From their subjective vantage point everything is moving forward as normally. There's no way they could experience anything differently, it simply wouldn't make sense to them. The only time reverse effects they would experience would be when Rimmer and Kryten turn up, and they would see them behaving as though they were moving backwards through time. So why are all their papers reporting everything backwards, why are their signs written backwards, why do they say goodbye when welcoming people, etc... :) if you let it, the sheer daffiness of this episode can melt your brain.

So happy series 3 is finally here. Backwards is okay, but Polymorph is the episode that truly hooked me into Red Dwarf.

The Earth scenes were filmed in Manchester. In fact...the studio is BBC Manchester.

FYI Red Dwarf is were Star Trek TNG got the inspiration for how the Borg will look. Just wanted to throw that out there.
