Spoiler Free:  Excellent episode I really enjoyed this one.

Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!    Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!!

This was hilarious the entire story threw me off I was trying to guess who the inspector was and was wrong both times. I think I have said this in every post for this show, Basil has the worst customer service lol. That dude can't keep his hands off people it's hilarious. I just expect Manuel to get hit now lmao. When Basil started begging I died, he sounded so pitiful and desperate lol. When the hotel inspectors witnessed him hitting a customer with pies and kicking him out I cracked up when Basil realized who they were. This was a fun and funny episode.

Thanks for watching folks !!! Hopefully, you all are happy, safe, and healthy !!

Oh i do love this episode !! Bernard Cribbins who played the fussy spoon salesman was another victim of john cleeses over zealous acting!! He got hurt in the choking scene🤣🤣...next week its my all time favorite...'gourmet night!' 😋

Ash Jeffries

Great reaction, Josh! My personal favourite, albeit there isn't a poor episode in the 12-episode run and the quality is pretty consistent! I just love the Bernard Cribbins spoon salesman character and the ending with Basil first breaking down (*squeaky* "Outboard motors?" :-D), and then his scream at the end when the real inspectors show up is just the cherry on top! Haha! Like you said, some good misdirection here and pure, cringemaking, escalating farce. :-D

Peter

Possibly an unpopular choice Josh but I’d like to put forward “The Festival” as a movie option. It is directed by Iain Morris who created The Inbetweeners and stars Joe Thomas who played Simon. His character in it isn’t that far a leap from that of Simon’s in my opinion. I personally enjoyed the film, perhaps you might too. However I wouldn’t go in to it expecting the same caliber as The Inbetweeners. There’s also a couple of other Inbetweeners cast members featured and Nick Frost but I won’t do a complete run down of the cast.

Danny

The annoying guest, as mentioned, is Bernard Cribbins. He's a British TV legend. He's nearly 92 and still popping in stuff. Been in shows for about 70 years. Younger viewers may recognise him from Dr Who, he was in that for several years starting in the series with David Tennant. Been in all sorts of stuff

Danny

Though everyone plays their part well John Cleese as Basil Fawlty makes the show. He is so good at playing the angry and frustrated character. But all the while being a kiss ass to try put himself over, always going on about things making things worse instead of leaving it. There's many time you see his face bright red and veins bulging on his temple when he is angry. Next episode is a great one with some iconic moments in it. Can't wait!

Andrew

Stop sending him spoilers people,he is being very nice about it,but he is also making it crystal clear in the intro of several videos of late, that he does not want any spoilers There is no point in having a reaction channel if people are messaging him telling him what he is about to see in upcoming episodes

this shows world is hilarious and the cartoony violence kinda reminds me of a less insane bottoms

Robert Donohoe

has anyone mentioned that John was married to Polly and they both wrote this together.

(Just) Steve

No spoilers, but the next two are great episodes. Episode 5 has a scene which is often in the "Funniest moments of British TV" lists, but Episode 6 is my all time favourite Fawlty Towers episode. Have you noticed that the "Fawlty Towers" sign changes at the start of every episode?

Austin Stratton

Josh, I was wondering.. I'm sure you've seen your fair share of American comedy and I know you've seen a lot of British shows.. I just wondered which you prefer.. which style of comedy.. Like if you could only have one or the other for the rest of your life... And out of all the shows you've watched on her and Youtube, which show, if you had to pick just one, would you love a new series for?

BelladonnicHazeyJaneII

Enjoyed your reaction :) as always. Looking forward to the next episode.

Fantastic episode of Fawlty Towers and fantastic reaction. The best part for me was when your Goosebumps t-shirt laughed along with you!

Andrew Sanderson

I love it when Manuel sneaks the plate off his table and runs off! Manuel speaks off camera about how real a lot of the hits actually are. the sound of the spoon hitting his head is very real! John Cleese was so particular about how things were done and it really shows. He wanted to stay away from slapstick comedy and it really does work very well. love seeing people react to the comedy I grew up watching. Nice one Josh take care mate

This was a really good episode man so hilarious. Omg he looked like it hurt lol. Awesome man I am looking forward to it =]

AfterWorkReactions

Hmmm that is a tough one man. Of course I grew up with American comedy so I have a love for many comedians from here. Although I have been enjoying UK a whole lot lately! I enjoy many types of comedy man so it is hard to choose. I would say I would like more Intbetweeners or Bottom, I loved those shows so much and was very bummed when they were over.

AfterWorkReactions

Thanks bud. I really enjoyed this one a whole lot. Many of other patrons have said this is their favorite episode as well. LOL that was a great misdirection I loved it.

Hey Josh. Can you please put 'Outnumbered' on the next vote list? Taffe316 just reacted to the first episode and I just remembered what an amazing show it is!

Adam C Turek

A lot of bits from this show happened to Cleese when he and the rest of Monty Python stayed at a Hotel in Torquay, England. The Hotel owner was insufferable, when Eric Idle asked to rent a television to watch cricket he went berserk and even threw one of their suitcases out through the front door because he thought it was a bomb scare. When the British papers found this out he became a laughing stock in Britain, his wife who also ran the hoteltried to deny it but his kids years later said Cleese was spot on.

Kieran

I watched all of Fawlty Towers 5 or 6 times back in the day, but it's been a good 20+ years and it's fantastic to watch it along with you. Such a great series, and John Cleese is a genius, despite him coming out with some slightly dubious racist/transphobic comments in his now very old age.

BigChanChan

I feel I need to mention this as a forewarning about Ep 6 I think it was. In which the old kernal blurts out a few terms that are now considered very derogatory to people of colour. I'm amazed they hadn't cut them out. It was a sign of the times and I sort of expect this kind of thing from back then but I was still taken aback by it to be honest and felt very uncomfortable, which just shows you how much things have changed.

AfterWorkReactions

I can see that lol, the hitting and violence overall in the show does seem very real. Thanks man you too take care.

AfterWorkReactions

Thanks for the heads up man. I usually take that with a grain of salt. If a show is older it will for sure have some things in there that are not PC.
