Spoiler Free:  Similar to the previous episode of Extras this episode would have been a decent ending to the series. I enjoyed it, it wasn't as funny as the final episode of Extras but it was still a good episode.

Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!    Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!!

This was a good episode, I talked at the end about how this episode would have been a decent finale episode. I was trying to think of what I would like to have seen and I drew a blank. Seeing as how this isn't the finale episode let's talk about what I would like to see in a final episode. After thinking about it, I think it would have been cool to have more balance between all the characters similar to the work outing episode. I would have like to see if flow similarly to the work outing episode where they all seem to get into one ridiculous situation after the next. I didn't have a timer or anything but it felt like that all had roughly the same amount of screen time and it all came together perfectly. While typing this I think it might be too much to ask for because that was such a great episode . How do you duplicate the same experience, with a different story without it feeling like a crap copy? Seems like it would be kind of tough. So all and all I enjoyed the episode and I am wondering how the bonus episode will go.

Thanks for watching folks !!! Hopefully, you all are happy, safe, and healthy !!

I'll be honest, I remember thinking the final episode of The IT Crowd wasn't that strong, a lot of great moments (Games Board being a particular highlight) but it struggled with some pacing issues. Funnily enough I feel very similar to the Christmas special of Father Ted, a lot of very funny moments, but as an episode it isn't paced all that well. I'm willing to be proved wrong though, as I may be when I rewatch it! A lot of great series coming to an end, it's sad, but a lot of great ones are starting too!

"VICTORIAAAA, BUT I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEEEAAAADDD" I will never fall out of love with Matt Berry's line delivery

Kevin Liversage

His suit and throwing the water is a reference to Heather Mills when divorcing Paul McCartney

Honestly I don't think you will like Red Dwarf.... at first at least. I never really found it funny, but I just enjoyed the aesthetic of the show.

David Lyons

A squib is a small pyrotechnic that makes a bang, commonly seen in movies when they want to simulate someone getting shot by a gun. So the phrase 'damp squib' means something that failed to go off correctly, creating an anticlimax.

Michael Harrop

Your name is Maurice Moss is it not?

Anonymous

That wasn't the last episode was it? I thought they did one more years later?

Michael Harrop

Genuinely think Moss in the stand at the courtroom is one of the best bits of physical comedy I've ever seen. Richard Ayoade absolutely killed it, had me howling first time I saw it😂

Steve King

There is a bloke at my work whose surname is Moss, and he has a 2 syllable first name. I work in IT and me and a few collegues always shout when we see him "YOU'RE NAME IS *FIRSTNAME* MOSS, IS IT NOT?"....he laughs at us but don't think he gets the reference LOL. Never gets old

Steve King

I remember it foundly as a teenager but mainly from the female Holly era onward

Ash Jeffries

The courtroom scenes - exquisitely silly but so funny! Love the "paddle stool / pedestal and damp squid / damp squib malapropisms from Jen and Roy too! :-D Much as I enjoyed The IT Crowd at the time and saw every episode years ago, I don't think I have seen the very last episode so I'll look forward to watching next week. Might see if I can find the last ep first and watch it once through! You will grow to love Red Dwarf but it does grow hugely over time and much as I love the first series, it's quite different in look and tone to the series that follow and people's fond memories of the show. It really finds its feet in series 3. The issue in the early series is largely budgetary, and the show gains breadth and colour as more money is thrown at it. That said, I really value the dialogue and character focus in series 1. Rob Grant was this way inclined as a writer and he leaves at the end of series 6. The plot aspect had already picked up by series 3 (even 2!) but when Doug Naylor starts to write scripts on his own (series 7 onwards) there is IMHO a notable shift in focus on story over comedy. It's still a decent show but I think I preferred the Rob Grant / Doug Naylor collaboration overall. Series 3-6 is Red Dwarf GOLD. :-D

Steve King

Somes Jokes explained.... Heston Blumenthal is an award winning chef who was famous for making wacky concoctations like bacon flavoured ice cream. He was on Channel 4 at the time which a show where is made really weird foods The Suit Renholm wears is a copy of that worn by Paul McCartney's ex-wife, Heather Mills, during their divorce trial (https://tinyurl.com/yxbv8y9c). IT Crowd often based its stories around real life recent News Stories so the theme of the whole episode is referencing that case. The language Douglas uses, calling the judge "My learned M'lud" is way over the top and something you'd probably only see in High Court cases or TV dramas (Not to be confused as Moss did with 'My love'). "Your grace", as you'll know for GoT is a middle-ages term for a King or a Queen. A squib is a small firework, hence the expression a "a damp squib" to mean something redundant (i.e it wouldn't function)

Josh I'm so excited for you to start Red Dwarf! I love it, its such a special and interesting comedy- just keep going and watching it, the first series or two can be a little underwhelming, but honestly in hindsight they've got some of the best sci-fi concepts. but honestly keep going with it, you'll love it

Relyx

yeah agree with you totally. like sometimes it's not really funny but it still has a cool sci-fi story, but other times it's very funny

I agree I am sad about these shows ending but I have heard great things about the new ones I am checking out =]

I don't think you caught it during the episode, but 'Will's mum' also played Denholm's wife at his funeral. Some weird stuff going on in that family!

Austin Stratton

The weird food at the restaurant was based on the chef Heston Blumenthal's food.. look him up he made some really weird stuff hence the wine-milk and radio/scourer/invisible desserts
