These folders are temporary I will replace these videos with copyright friendly versions . I will have to edit every video and update all of the post to comply with copyright laws. This could take a couple of weeks .This means syncing up your own copy with my video . I will include timers to help with syncing up your copy . This is not something that I want to do this something I'm required to do . Based on the information I have received from Vimeo all signs point to an individual reporting my Vimeo account . Though this is frustrating it does give me the opportunity to look at some best practices from other reactors and do things their way. Its doesn't matter that I was reported by someone what matters is the legal team agrees with the reporter and that's a bit worrying.

Can't believe there's a rat here.

If it's took them this long to terminate, I'd suggest creating a new one and having another 6 months before they find us again. ATB Mitch

Other Reactors are able to upload their full lengths to Google Drive and then share that link

Liam

I've always thought people should do this anyway... Forget reactions. Watch alongs/commentaries should be the way forward 😋 that way everyone is happy. Including the people dealing with copyright since it's just your face and voice haha

Sorry you’re going through this, mate, what a nightmare

AfterWorkReactions

That what I'm doing with these temporary folders. I support 3 reaction channels and 2 use the watch with me method and one uses my current method and they have been doing it for years. So both ways work and both ways can be reported just seems the watch with me method is protected under fair use and my method isn't. Also, Google has a similar DMCA policy meaning whoever reported me to Vimeo will just keep repeating their efforts. Since being reported is inevitable I want to make sure my videos comply with their rules. The goal is to make sure the legal team sides with me when the next report happens. I want to prevent another no warning termination.

How does this work when watching on a mobile device? I watch 95% of Josh’s posts (bottom was never my taste) but I watch all of that 95% on my phone. I expect several others do the same.

AfterWorkReactions

lol, I wish it was that easy. There no guarantee it would last as long the next time because a patron reported my Vimeo account. Their policy is they don't allow access to private videos to anyone of any reason and they don't screen private videos for copyright compliance. The only way for it to be reported is if the video is embedded on a third-party website (Patreon) and a person submits that video link. Meaning someone needed to become a patron and copy, paste, and submit several video links.

Jake Cross

I think what you describe should work well. I would think a commentary (reaction) separate from the video would be like a movie review, which I think very hard to justify as infringing copyright since your reaction would not contain the original video. What I would suggest is including links and assistance to finding the original video whether it is on Netflix or some other site. Having to sync two videos will.be more difficult for viewers, so all the assistance or tools you can find to make it as easy as possible the better, remember some people are not very computer literate.

Thanks so much for all your hard work... Dunno how you have the patience...Sooo appreciated ! You've kept me going these past 8 months! So needed a laugh in these dismal times and you deliver every single time! Keep smiling don't let the b@$t@**$ get you down!

Anonymous

Real shame man... I don't think it's too bad though, I knew this would eventually happen as I watch 2 other reaction creators and they have had to do the same thing :/

Jade Nepia

Unfortunate you should just use Dropbox and have people download, the whole syncing thing sux

AfterWorkReactions

Thanks, bud yeah I have been working on the finding apps and such to make this transition as simple as possible. I plan on doing everything you mention and easy to follow videos for people who aren't as savvy.

dubs

Thanks josh please don't over do it just got home from work to find that u have been doing some serious work thanks we appreciate you

AfterWorkReactions

Thanks, bud. Same here I support 3 reaction channels and so far 2 have to do the watch along and one still has their full unedited reaction. She will probably have to change hers soon as well.

Ash Jeffries

Thank you so much for all your hard work, Josh! Much appreciated! :-)

I think you missed the best joke out of the whole of inbetweeners because you were laughing at the previous joke :D Jay lied, "They stood up on their hind legs and started firing milk at me from their tits." Will corrected Jay, "Udders!" Jay mistakenly thinks Will asked, 'others?', and replied, "Yeah, there were loads of them"

Daniel French

Thanks Josh, sucks man! But could you not upload them on to Dailymotion?? I mean, unless you can’t, just a thought! Anyway, we appreciate all you do!

Steve King

Thanks Josh, don't spend too much time editing down stuff to comply with Vimeo. Move to another platform, I'm happy with Google Drive/Dropbox etc....yes it's nice to be able to click a play button in the browser and having it play straight away but would rather download an mp4 file than you having to take lots of time to edit stuff so it can be hosted on one of the big video hosting sites

AfterWorkReactions

Yeah as a fan and supporter of several reaction channels I agree. I am not a fan of a watch along, I do it because I like their reactions but I prefer the reactors who include the video. Unfortunately, this is a change I have to make because after reading a bunch of DMCA policy's in detail Dropbox has very similar reporting systems. The issue is someone is manually reporting my content. This means no matter where I post it all it takes is 5 minutes of someone's time to report it. I won't be surprised if these temp folders are reported. It takes time for the reviewer to get around to the report my goal is to make sure the next time it's reported the legal team doesn't side with the reporter and delete my entire account without warning again also opening me to legal action.

AfterWorkReactions

lmao that great, I do that a lot where I am so busy laughing at one joke that I miss the next . Sometimes I try to force myself to stop but I can't lol.

AfterWorkReactions

I could but the issue of a mass deletion will always be right around the corner. The goal is to comply with the law going forward not circumvent it and cause another mass deletion of my content. Daily motion has a copyright take-down system as well. I have received a few notices over the life of my Dailymotion account Jimmy carr clips, Red Dwarf clips, and Billy Connolly to name a few. Unfortunately, Dailymotion is so vague when it comes to there rules I have no clue if I will lose my account there soon as well.

AfterWorkReactions

Thanks, bud unfortunately I have to do the edits. I am permanently terminated from Vimeo. I'm not trying to comply with them they took my money and ran lol.Site like Vimeo are probably happy with things like this they get to keep your money and don't have to host your content lol. I am trying to comply with the DMCA policy in general. With such an easy reporting system in place, it won't matter what platform I place my videos on anyone with $4 can become a patron and report my content. Being reported will happen I get that. What I want to prevent is the review/legal team agreeing with the report next time around.

I'm really sorry this has happened to you guys, its not fair, especially cause most people have seen the shows/films before. It's not as if people watch your videos to get a free version of a show, its for the reaction. If you're looking for safer ways to react to stuff however, I watch a bit of Devon DaVinci and he just uploads his reaction with a muted and blurred version of the show? The only annoying thing is that you then have to find the show yourself to watch them simultaneously. I hope you find a good solution anyway :) love your stuff

Is there gonna be a folder for extras?

Anonymous

Sadly my iPad will. To let me download or play these folders. What a pain for both you and I.

AfterWorkReactions

Have you tried to install the google drive app first ?? https://apps.apple.com/us/app/google-drive/id507874739

AfterWorkReactions

Yeah, it defiantly sucks for sure. thanks, I appreciate it I hope to find a solution that makes this an easier transition for people.

I’m back in business! Thanks for the help! Hope you get all this sorted soon.

Jake Cross

I was thinking about whether you could make some extra money from merchandise; Josh, Tay and all that Jazz T-Shirts etc. I would buy a "Let me have my toys!" T-Shirt

Jade Nepia

You should look into mega nz

Some people man, smh, what a real piece of shit

How much can I take in 24 hours? The end of inbetweeners now I find there is a complete wanker in our midst.

Toby Lewis

Sorry you’re going through this bud. You asked about the phrase “chewing the fat” in your worlds end reaction. Karl Pilkington talked about it on XFM actually. It means talking/having a chat with people. It’s called educating Ricky-hanging bacon, educating Ricky is a pretty funny segment overall, could react to the full series of it over on YouTube once you’re done with the Karl v Steve.

Unfortunately the only tech I own is a smartphone so I don't have a different device to play it on. Have you had a look into dropbox? Google drive limits the amount of people that can view a file simultaneously where as dropbox does not. Also onehub is very good aswell.

Anonymous

One of the only solutions to not being able to report a video is to have your own website. JimB Media is the only reactor I know of who has his own website to host reactions and it works very well.

Anonymous

Not gonna lie can’t watch the last episode of inbetweeners, google moving like a dickhead

Adam C Turek

sorry to hear this man - can't imagine how much of a hassle this is - for what its worth though i'll be sticking around as a Patron

NEXUS

Cant get anything to play sadly from these files directly.i would use drobox myself to upload and use BItchute instead of YouTube.

Caine

I feel bad for you getting all this extra hassle, hopefully things work out well, manners and respect from England my bruva

Stay strong Brother.... There are Vampires out there, (Licence-holders). I know you respect them.... but there are also at least one Blood-sucker out there who just wants it to ruin it for everyone else. (You know who I mean.) Buck the free-grudgers. Stay strong and stay Zen.
