I was thinking the same as you throughout that episode Josh. Seemed a bit weird and disjointed, especially the part with Nadja and the doughnut woman, it seemed like they couldn't think of anything for her to do in this episode and came up with something random. Maybe the writer was craving doughnuts that particular day ;)

I like the idea that someone would trick another person into thinking they're a witch with supernatural powers...just so they can get donuts from a shop they were banned from. At least I like the idea of it. It just wasn't that funny in practice. The hybrid animals were silly. But sticking them in a home was quite a sweet solution. Maybe crossover potential with the show Derek - maybe Ricky Gervais's character can become close friends with one of them, and teach it profound life lessons like 'don't be mean' and 'telling the truth is good'. And then they put on a christmas play together about how maybe religion is wrong and we should all love each other even though there's no god, and all the old people at the home tear up at Ric-, sorry, Derek's beautiful, simple-minded overhaul of Christmas. This was a very weak episode, but I've enjoyed this season overall, more than the previous season. The episode with them trying to get kid Colin into a private school is still the worst episode ever. There's been nothing in this season as bad as the montage of them repeatedly rehypnotising the headmaster. And the episode earlier in this season with the council of energy vampires was one of the best ever.
