The letter that gets mentioned, 'þ', is called 'thorn' and is pronounced as the 'th' sound. It's a feature of old Germanic and Nordic alphabets, and actually used to be used in Old English until the French-speaking scholars that came along with the Norman invasion took one look at it and said 'wtf is this shit'.
