Here's my first OC with some background story. At first, I only wanted to give some story to the character of the first illustration I posted, but I believe it ended up looking better than I originally thought.
I got inspired by the story of the many trans women I know (including myself) that had to face the world by themselves.

I will develop this character further when I  reach the $500 per month goal. This way I'll have more time to start giving life to bigger projects, including comic book stories!

I hope you like it, and don't forget to give me some feedback! ^^

Trivia: The heels she's wearing is inspired by this vector design I did some time ago.

This turned out really excellent! I love it, and I love all the extra looks too! So what's the monthly goal to getting her married off in her dream wedding? ;)

Thank you so much! I think I've gone a little too biographic with the creation of this character, putting too much of me on her. I don't have much experience with writing, and I really don't want to fall into the mary sue trap. I think about writing some shorter stories at first, and starting a bigger project focusing on this character after having some more experience. Of course, things are going to be easier after reaching my $500 per month goal and having full time to work on art. So let's just hope it doesn't take toooo long to happen. xD

I understand your concerns, but I wouldn't worry about too much "self insertion" (pun intended... XD ). Er, seriously though - what better way to make a realistic character than to base the character on someone real - and what better set of experiences to draw on and inform character motivations than your own? To the extent a Mary Sue is bad writing happens when they are Best at Everything/Cardboard Perfect Cutouts that take over the story in a "bad way". And the term itself tends to apply most to fanfiction where the author has inserted themselves in their favorite universe and writes the normal characters from the universe as fawning over them and madly in love with how they can do everything better than the story universe's "regular" characters. And you're not writing fan fiction - you're just writing stories. So you really don't need to overly worry in this case. Now - if you go write this character into Buffy the Vampire Slayer and make all the characters fall in love with her and she's 100x better at Slaying than Buffy... maybe you need to worry. But for some reason I don't see that happening. For an example of what you *should* avoid... there is this really famous (er infamous?) example: "legolas by laura" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMbjK1m6alg

I hope we see more of this OC
